GOP Senator Norm Coleman's father in public sex bust

RAW STORY
Published: Thursday July 27, 2006

A report in this morning's Roll Call shows that Norm Coleman, Sr., the father of Minnesota Republican Senator Norm Coleman, was arrested after he was caught having sex in public in St. Paul, Minnesota, RAW STORY has learned.

Coleman's father was arrested for lewd and disorderly conduct after he was found having sex outside a pizzeria with 38-year old Patrizia Marie Schrag. Norm Coleman, Sr., is 81-years old.

Senator Coleman released a statement declaring “I love my father dearly. I do not condone his actions or behavior, and I am deeply disturbed by what I have learned. He clearly has some issues that need to be dealt with, and I will encourage him to seek the necessary help.”

Coleman, Sr., was a constant presence during his son's 2002 Senate campaign, in which he ran neck and neck with Democrat Paul Wellstone until the incumbent died in a plane crash. A November 3, 2002 article in Minnesota's Star Tribune reported "Coleman's father, Norman Sr., travels with his son these days, campaigning. The mayor holds him up as a hero, a veteran of the Normandy invasion and the Battle of the Bulge. "He's the smartest man I know," Coleman said."

An excerpt from the subscribers' only article is included below.

#
On Tuesday, the 81-year-old father of Sen. Norm Coleman (R-Minn.) was cited for lewd and disorderly conduct after police arrested him allegedly having sex with a 38-year-old woman in a car outside a pizza joint.

Police picked up Norman Bertram Coleman Sr. and the woman, Patrizia Marie Schrag, Tuesday evening in downtown St. Paul outside the Savoy Inn pizzeria, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press. (Did Mr. Coleman think the Savoy Inn was a motel, then couldn’t control himself once he got there?)

Catherine, that is just WAY disgusting! There are some things that I simply don't need to know...and 81-year-old codgers getting it on right out in public is near the top of the list. Ewwww. That'll sure put you off your pizza!

Wonder if Senator Norm is a chip off the ol' block..?

"Proper decorum" indeed. Stripey! Decorum becomes increasingly difficult when your bottom is bare...

It's not meant as a religious question, DK, but more as a think about this comment on the hypocrisy within our society, which is evident in the topic of this thread. It is also a question many feminists ask when the topic of women's rights is being discussed.

Those are some well-placed shots there, Catherine! As ever, you have penetrated to the center of the question. The stark, glaring hypocrisy within the Republican Party is almost painful at times....

I'd have thought that the Armchair Subversive was widely known...but, then, I should NEVER assume things like that! Posting the URL was an outstanding move! Here are a few more of my faves to go along with it:

Now we come to some of the newest members of the Rapture-Right Reprobates Hall of Shame. You might want to start the hot water running now; I guarantee you'll want to take a shower after reading some of these!

Harry Fredrick Hollingsworth, Sr., former pastor at First Baptist Church in Danville, Iowa, PLEADED GUILTY to sexual exploitation by a counselor or therapist. You see, a female client came to see him for marriage counseling...and he seduced her. How original! This wad of rightwing scum is now a registered sex offender in Iowa. http://www.multiline.com.au/~johnm/ethics/ethcont80.htm (Scroll down about 1/3 page to Arraignment set for pastor's sexual abuse case [2002-03])

THIS is just too funny! Carlos Romero, a pastor in San Diego, stands accused of using the fear of the devil to coerce female members of his congregation into having sex with him. Now, there's a line for you! He faces up to five years and eight months in the slam for two counts of inducing sex by fear and one count ot making a criminal threat. ("If you don't do it, I'll make sure you go to Hell!") http://www.expagan.info/iblog/B1393183100/C530913651/E755279519/

Thomas J. Flickinger, pastor of the Westbury Church of the Nazarene in Victory, New York, was arrested on charges of sexually abusing a teenage girl he became acquainted with as a member of his congregation. Flickinger is married with two children...and, apparently, not getting enough at home. http://www.speroforum.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1208&whichpage=18#20752

Michael Vahle, pastor of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Westhaven, Tennessee, was arrested and charged with 41 counts of sexual assault and misconduct with ONE SINGLE VICTIM who was under 15. The crimes occurred between 1989 and 1993. FORTY-ONE COUNTS?!? http://www.multiline.com.au/~johnm/ethics/ethcont94.htm (Scroll down not quite halfway to Minister charged with child sex in Arizona returned to Prescott [1989-1993 Vahle])

Rev. James Fincher, pastor of Faith Misionary Bptist Church in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, is one very sick puppy. This scumbag was found guilty of sexual battery to a woman who came to him to borrow $100. The woman said Fincher restrained her as she tried to leave and told her to EXPOSE HERSELF in return for the loan. He was given an 18 month suspended sentence and ordered to complete 20 hours of community service. Hope it's not co-ed community service...

Donald Peckham, a 71-year-old pastor of Jubilee Fellowship Chuirch in Sercoxie, Missouri, was arrested in July of last year on a charge of 2nd degree sodomy for allegedly assaulting a 14-year-old boy in his home in 1996. What a piece of garbage!

Let's leave the pervie pastors for a while and go into a some non-clergy reprobates.

You know, when I started looking into this, it was with the offhand casual interest of someone who just wanted to puncture a few of those high-and-mighty "moral values" windbags. Now, nearly a year later, I'm discovering that there is literally no end to the hypocrisy and moral turpitude of those on the right. I'm drowning in information oh this sickening subject.

People who were utterly up in arms about the fact that Bill Clinton might have engaged in some strictly consensual and hetrosexual adult fun have been themselves guilty of the most deviate, degenerate behavior imaginable!

Think I'm kidding?

Deal Hudson, a publisher of the small-circulation Catholic magazine Crisis, as well as a Bush/Cheney campaign advisor and a confidante of Karl Rove, had to step down after it was revealed that he'd been involved in a sexual harassment lawsuit when he was a philosophy professor at Fordham University. The girl was an 18-year-old college freshman...and he paid her $30,000 in settlment. I'll bet whatever he got wasn't worth it... (http://www.beliefnet.com/story/151/story_15158.html) Hudson is the consummate hypocrite who said of Clinton, "Those who are not willing to bear the burder of...higher standards should not seek office." Right. And sanctimonious rightwads shouldn't cast aspersions with a closetfull of skeletons, either!

Texas Representative Richard Armey, so scathing in his criticism of Democratic misdemeanors in the 90's, was himself accused of "inappropriate behavior" with female students as an economics professor at North Texas State. People who lone in glass houses don't need to be lobbing hand grenades.

Representative Ken Calvert, a champion of the Christian Coalition and its "family values," was not only sued as an alimony deadbeat by his ex-wife, he was caught by police getting oral sex from a prostitute in his car in Corona, California after midnight. As the officer approached, he witnessed Calvert "placing his [genitals] into his unzipped dress slacks." Ewww. (http://www.nndb.com/people/087/000035979/) Calvert is the on who said in a moment of monumental hypocrisy "We cannot forgive what occurred between the Presidnt and Lewinsky." Okay, lover-boy, whatever you say.

Orange County California Superior Court Judge Ronald C. Kline was charged with child molestation and placed under arrest on federal charges of child pornography. He liked to watch...AND do! (http://query.nytimes.com/gst/abstract.htm?res=F00914F93A550C718CDDAA0894DA404482

Dennis Rader, a 59-year-old church going family man, Boy Scout leader and city code enforcement supervisor--who just happened to be the BTK killer--was charged with serial murder in Wichita, Kansas. He pleaded guilty to performing a sexual act on an 11-year-old girl BEFORE HE TOOK HER LIFE. http://cnnstudentnews.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0502/28/lkl.01.html

That'll do for now. Yuck.

Hope you don't mind, AOM, but I did a bit of "highlight editing" of your excellent post so folks reading it won't easily miss the names of the perps!

Let's keep this thread ALIVE...there's sure as hell enough material out there about these disgusting and sanctimonious hypocrites.

Catherine
