Overturning Health Care Law Could Be the ‘Best Thing’ Ever for Democrats

James Carville doesn’t think it’s good for the country, but if the Supreme Court decides to throw out the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, from a purely political angle, “the Republican Party will own the health care system for the foreseeable future.”

And then you can “go see Scalia when you want health care.”

Carville says “I think this will be the best thing that has ever happened to the Democratic Party,” since health care costs are only going to go up and the Democrats can say that unlike the Republicans, “we tried, we did something.” (Not that their effort delivered much in the way of cost control.)

So it doesn't matter how many people die, or how much suffering goes on.

Is Carvelle really a Dem?

Can you picture the battle for single payer? Sure it would be great, but certainly not easy and maybe not even doable.

Round Table on the Health Care Ruling

Dr. Oliver Fein of Physicians for a National Healthcare Program, Wendell Potter (pictured), a whistle-blower and former executive at Cigna and Humana, and Jodi Jacobson, editor in chief of RH Reality Check, discuss the consequences of the Supreme Court’s decision to uphold the 2010 Affordable Care Act.
