Military jets intercept small plane near Edwards Air Force Base
12:14 a.m. May 27, 2005
PALMDALE – A small plane escorted away from Edwards Air Force Base by a pair of fighter jets was carrying two men taking aerial photos for a real estate company.
The men, whose names were not released, were questioned by FBI agents for more than five hours Thursday night before being released.
"It looks like they were photographers working for a real estate company and didn't realize what altitude they were flying at," said FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller. "Their story checked out and they were released."
The pair's Aero Commander was intercepted by two F-15 fighter jets Thursday afternoon and escorted to Palmdale Airport.
The plane was spotted flying about 18,000 feet above the Antelope Valley, in the high desert north of Los Angeles, for several hours Thursday afternoon, said Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Donn Walker. The FAA contacted the Western Air Defense after the plane repeatedly approached restricted air space and could not be identified or contacted by radio.
After landing at Palmdale Airport, the two men were driven to an FBI office in nearby Lancaster, where they were questioned. They told authorities they were taking photos for a Northern California real estate business.
It wasn't immediately clear why they didn't respond to communications from the FAA.

The obvious question, how could there be four planes known to be hijacked flying around for almost an hour and a half with no interception on 9/11/01, yet little planes taking pictures of property are forced down? How many of these kind of stories have we heard recently?
How loudly can this administration scream, "I am guilty!"?

good question Dori. A "million dollar question". J

And yet, there are people who don't question...

Perhaps they are scared. Or maybe they are just content with their ignorance. Even when given a DVD containing more smoking guns than a western, some would rather watch "reality shows".

Good point ECSMOKELOC.
There are many reasons people can ignore facts. I would guess major ones are being scared as you say, or being comfortable and not wanting anything to disrupt that comfort. It is kind of like the people who keep hitting the 'snooze' button on their alarm clock because they don't want to have to face the new day.
Meanwhile our new day just keeps getting uglier.

For the record..
On 9/11 there were never 4 planes hijacked planes in the air for over one and half hours....
I guess if you take from when the first plane took off until Flt 93 crashed you can say that. But that is kind of twisting the facts dont you think?
What time was each plane actually hijacked? Flt 77 wasn't even off the ground when the first plane was hijacked.
Ok now I guess its time for:
The Payne Stewart analogy right?
I, like probably many of you have read those websites spouting " it only took 19 minutes to intercept his plane"
I realize they got this info from the initial AP reports.
But there is BIG problem with that
if you read the report it states 9:33 the air force was notified and at 9:54 the plane was intercepted.....19 minutes right?
time zone folks 9:33 EDT and 9:54 CDT....
it was actually 1 hour and 19 minutes
