Global Internet paedophile ring smashed: British police
Police have smashed an international Internet paedophile ring in an investigation involving 35 countries and more than 700 suspects, a British law enforcement agency said Monday.
Internet chat room "Kids the Light of Our Lives" hosted hundreds of paedophiles trading photographs and videos of children being subjected to horrific sexual abuse, said the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre (CEOP).
Some 31 children have been rescued from abuse or positions of harm, CEOP said.
The British-based investigation centred around 200 suspects in the country, most of whom are now subject to police enquiries.
Timothy Cox, 27, the man behind the network, has been convicted in an English court and now awaits sentence.
Forensic teams found 75,960 indecent and explicit images on his computer, in addition to evidence that he had supplied 11,491 images to other site users.
Actually, that little emoticon isn't correct. NOTHING shocks me anymore when it comes to perverts and their deviant sexual desires.
