Over 100 militants attack Pakistan's northwest
The attack, in which about 12 militants were killed, appeared to be part of a new strategy by the Pakistani Taliban of staging large-scale assaults on military and government targets in a bid to demoralise the army.

Will Washington Foment War Between China and India?
...real purpose [of the fake death of bin Laden in a commando raid] was...to show Pakistan that the US was contemplating invading Pakistan in order to make Pakistan pay for allegedly hiding bin Laden next door to Pakistan’s military academy.

Attorney general rules against Dr David Kelly inquest
...the doctors campaigning for an inquest said they were "perplexed and outraged" with the decision.
They have argued that the official cause of death, a haemorrhage, was "extremely unlikely" - arguing that the wound found to Dr Kelly's wrist was unlikely to be life-threatening and questioning the lack of fingerprints recovered from the knife and a pack of pills Dr Kelly apparently took.http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-13709515
Britain’s Consumers Wince as Cameron’s Government Wields the Austerity Ax
The government envisions about 80 billion pounds ($131 billion) of spending cuts plus 30 billion pounds of tax increases over the next four years. Last year, when the cuts began, was the easiest to bear. Some 6 billion pounds in efficiencies were realized by the government in its various departments.
This year the measures intensify. Britons have already felt the pinch of a sales tax boost to 20 percent from 17.5 percent, which the Office for National Statistics says has added three-quarters of a point to the inflation rate, now at 4.5 percent. http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-06-0 ... ficit.html
