Each person is listed, with a picture and local notice of his death: http://www.militarycity.com/valor/honor.html

Running list of American Military Deaths Since May 1st, 2003:http://www.antiwar.com/casualties/list.php

Quote:
Named and identified victims of the war in Iraq:
a memorial, February 2006

Almost since the beginning of our project, concerned individuals and citizen's groups have drawn attention to Iraqi victims of the war in public readings and displays using names compiled by Iraq Body Count (IBC). These lists have been based on media reported civilian deaths and an on-the-ground survey conducted in 2003 by CIVIC.

We have now updated IBC's list to include names recorded to February 2006, and formatted it as a print-ready PDF file which can be downloaded from the links below. The list contains some 3,670 individuals, including a minority for whom only a partial name or familial relationship could be established.

In any use of these names please give due honour to the unidentified dead not in this list whose numbers far exceed these named victims. For every identified individual on the list there are another 9 confirmed Iraqi civilians killed for whom we do not have identifying information. In contrast, virtually every coalition soldier killed can be identified by name and other biographical information.

There is no organised effort to name all victims of the war. Only when all have been identified and duly recorded can there be any talk of respecting their memory.

To those who knew and loved them, and are in no need of reminding, we offer our condolences.

This is from a year ago. Look at the numbers even back then. How do you believe they look now?

Active-Duty GIs Call for Withdrawal by Aaron Glantz

One is a July 20, 2006, document titled "Compensation and Pension Benefit Activity Among Veterans of the Global War on Terrorism," which shows that 152,669 veterans filed disability claims after fighting in Iraq or Afghanistan. Of the more than 100,000 claims granted, Veterans Administration records show at least 1,502 veterans have been compensated as 100 percent disabled.

The numbers hardly surprise Adele Kubein, a graduate student in a teaching position at Oregon State University and a member of the group Military Families Speak Out. Her daughter Makesha, a member of the Oregon National Guard, was blown out of her helicopter in Iraq.

"Her leg was shattered and she was kept in combat two more months after that with a shattered leg," Kubein told IPS. "She was eventually medically evacuated out, and she was held on a base in Colorado interminably. They were not going to release her because there was no plan in place for medical assistance for National Guard members. They were threatening to release her from the military without further medical care."

How do those numbers look now? What about our service people who end up homeless, or with limbs blown off or eyes that don't work? How much do we care about them?

Who loses in war? Certainly the people who come home and can't live with the horror they have lived through have lost the life they would have had if America hadn't decided empire is more important than 'the American Dream'. The only american dreams people in power care about are their own dreams of greed, power and lust.

The power crazy person's trinity--greed, power and lust!

Remains of long-missing soldier finally ID'd
Sgt. Keith 'Matt' Maupin was captured in an ambush near Baghdad in 2004

BATAVIA, Ohio - The father of a soldier listed as missing-captured in Iraq since 2004 said Sunday that the military had informed him that his son's remains had been found.

Keith Maupin said an Army general told him DNA testing had identified the remains of his son, Sgt. Keith Matthew Maupin, or "Matt" as he was commonly known. He said the Army didn't say how or where in Iraq his son's remains were discovered, only that officials found a shirt similar to the one his son was wearing at the time of his disappearance.

The Pentagon should be ashamed that a soldier's parents have to "keep the pressure" on to find their missing son!
