Oliver North says Bush plan 'eerily like Vietnam escalation'

RAW STORY
Tuesday January 9, 2007

Appearing on The O'Reilly Factor, retired Lt. Colonel Oliver North, who hosts Fox News Channel's War Stories, said that he doesn't support President Bush's plan to for 20,000 additional ground troops in Iraq.

In this clip, O'Reilly quips that the conservative military analyst, best known for his key role in the Iran-Contra affair, is aligning himself with Democratic Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi when he claims that Bush's "surge" plan "sounds eerily like Lyndon Johnson’s plan to save Vietnam in the 60s by gradual escalation as a way not to lose."

I think O'Reilly is teetering on the brink. On Scarborough's program tonight they were talking about how he is accusing everyone of being liberal--something he can't stand. I can picture how he must have taken having North back away from Bush's policies.

Even though just about everyone is against Bush's plans to increase troop strength, I am still surprised Oliver North doesn't go along with it.

a lot of the neocon inner circle is starting to back away from bush in his failed policy. the propaganda spinners like oreilly and hannity are beginning to squeal like the pigs that they are as they realize the neocons on thier own side are abandoning g.w.

it's a sweet thing to watch these assholes begin to fight amongst themselves and beat each other up. the implosion of the repugs is the best thing that could happen to preserve our guaranteed rights.

it's pretty clear though that oreilly is beginning to realize that he's on a ship that sinking and his paranoia is made manifest at seeing anyone who wishes to seek the truth as being somehow complicit with al queda. most people like olbermann and now even the ultra conservative scarborough are beating him down into the slime pit where he he belongs. the guy is becoming truely desperate. he would have fit right into the joseph goebbels branch of the nazi party under hitler.
