Baghdad - 6 Million People, 117 Degrees And No Water
It really is as bad as it sounds. Anyone who cares to look can check a book called
The Last True Story I'll Ever Tell by John Crawford, and read the passages where he describes the earlier stages of the U.S. occupation of Baghdad. It was 117 degrees, and there was no plumbing. Entire office buildings were filling with human shit as people were forced to defecate in vacant hallways in the absence of plumbing. Then all that waste would bake down 24/7 in the livid heat. And the soldiers had to sleep in and around these buildings as their occupying positions in the city.
Now the entire nation of Iraq has been reduced to a post-Katrina Apocalypse living standard, and some people in the United States still don't understand why they hate us?
The story CNN won't tell you.
