He’s been lurking in the wings, and now Republican-turned-Libertarian Bob Barr is starting to loom larger in campaign ’08. According to the Los Angeles TImes, Barr has set his steely sights on the GOP, issuing withering criticism about Bush (he’s worse than Clinton!) and threatening to spoil his former tribe’s party this fall.

Bob Barr...what a JOKE! But for those who don't want to vote for either of the main candidates, he's a much stronger contender for those votes than Ralph Nader could ever hope to be.

Barr can be to McWarSameBush what Ross Perrot was to H W and what Nader was to Gore. Clinton's margin of victory in 1992 was large enough that the Repug vote flipping machine was not able to overcome the margins; I think we'll never know what the true margins were. Nader caused the margins to be so close that the great theft of 2000 occurred.

The reason Barr is says the War Chimp is worse than Clinton is simple, Barr and the War Chimp have the same rhetoric with completely different actions, at least with Clinton the rhetoric was openly different. We can only hope Barr is the sledgehammer to fracture the Repugs. After Nixon, it looked like the Repugs were dead in the water but there was only a single presidential cycle that they lost.
