The De-Fanged Liberal Lion

Tom Bevan over at Real Clear Politics describes the ultimate degeneration of Senator Ted Kennedy:

Nobody has felt, or suffered, the weight of changes in the electoral landscape and the resulting shift in the power structure in Washington, D.C. over the last twenty-five years more than Kennedy. He came to Washington in November 1962 as the brother of a sitting President and an Attorney General and as the member of a party that controlled 66 seats in the Senate and had an 83-seat majority in the House of Representatives. It was the height of both his family’s and his party’s power, and it has been more or less a downhill ride ever since.
Today Kennedy is currently the second longest serving member of the Senate. He turns 74 next month and will stand for reelection this November, but Kennedy must be disheartened about the prospect of finishing his career as a member of the minority. The once powerful liberal lion of the Senate now sits defanged and declawed in a Judiciary Committee hearing room, frustrated by the inability to stop what looks to be the steady march of Samuel Alito to the United States Supreme Court.


What is amazing is that Kennedy will be easily re-elected to the Senate - is there no Republican in Massachusetts who will run against this man? I know that a Kennedy in Massachusetts is unbeatable - but is he really? Do the people of Massachusetts want to re-elect this corrupt, degenerate barnacle on the nations politics? Does he serve any purpose other than to obstruct? Does he stand for anything other than a dying liberal orthodoxy? Wouldn't even a junior Republican Senator be more effective for Massachusetts?

I stand amazed at people like Kennedy - a man who let a woman die who presumes to lecture on morality; a man who never advocates a tax on his fabulous amount of wealth who demands taxes on the rich; a man who sold his political soul to the abortion lobby just to get off the hook with feminists over his past womanizing...there has to be a way to get him out of the Senate, to get him out of his current position as a blot upon American honor.

George bu$h is not just a blot upon American Honor, he is a total disgrace to the human race. That worm should be impeached, removed from office, tried for war crimes, crimes against humanity & dozens of other charges, convicted, all assets seized to offset some of the damage he has caused THEN sentenced to life in prison.

Same goes for Cheney & the rest of that rotten, low-life, lying, murdering administration. Loss of money & power is the only justice that gang of thugs will understand.
