According to my October AARP Bulletin, there are 7 REASONS to vote on Election Day, 2006.

Some of you aren't near retirement age, but take it from one who knows, YOU'RE NEVER TOO YOUNG TO DETERMINE WHAT YOU WANT YOUR RETIREMENT TO BE LIKE. START THINKING ABOUT IT NOW AND DOING SOMETHING ABOUT IT...NOW. This election could make a major impact on what things will be like when you reach your 50s, 60s, and 70s. It could also impact your parents if you're lucky enough to still have yours, and your children and grandchildren.

And yes, the War in Iraq is a given, so it's not included in this list.

Here are the 7 REASONS TO VOTE this ELECTION DAY (just in case you didn't have enough reasons!):

1. Social Security

2. Medicare

3. Long-Term Care

4. Economic Security

5. Health Care Reform

6. Integrity in Government

7. Presidential Power and Congressional Oversight

Besides these top 7, and the war, there are plenty of others...immigration, stem cell research, education, medical malpractice and identify theft...you can probably name some of your own.
