Michael J. Fox appears in stem-cell ad for Dem candidate

RAW STORY
Published: Friday October 20, 2006

In a powerful new political ad, actor Michael J. Fox urges voters to elect U.S. Senate candidate Claire McCaskill for her support of stem-cell research.

Fox does not hide the clearly evident physical signs of his disease in the brief ad, in which he says McCaskill, a Missouri Democrat, "shares my hope for cures."

The actor knocks incumbent Sen. Jim Talent for not supporting the research, saying that the Republican "even wanted to criminalize the science that gives us a chance for hope."

"What you do in Missouri matters to millions of Americans," Fox concludes. "Americans like me."

Good ad of course, but, I did not know that Michael Fox was an American. I guess he got his American citizenship somewhere along the line. He comes from right where I live here in BC.

AND THEN ALONG COMES FUCKING LIMBAUGH...

Rush Limbaugh attacks Michael J. Fox: ” …he was either off the medication or he was acting. He is an actor, after all.”

By: John Amato Monday, October 23rd, 2006

Rush Limbaugh will say anything to attack anyone who challenges George Bush and his policies. This time, his target is Michael J. Fox. Meds are something Rush does have a little experience with.

Emailer Doug: Rush Limbaugh today accused Michael J. Fox, actor and Parkinson's Disease victim, of deliberately going off of his meds to appear on camera with exaggerated symptoms of his disease for dramatic effect. Fox appeared in a recent Clair McHaskill (D-MO) Senate campaign ad, touting the need for stem cell research. Limbaugh even goes so far as to accuse Fox of faking his symptoms all together.

As usual, Limbaugh's opinion is diametrically opposed to the facts. Michael Fox's involuntary movements were not the result going off his meds. His involuntary movements are caused by his meds.

Right-wing nutcases, like Rush Limbaugh and Bill Frist, really need to stop diagnosing people through videotape. What a bunch of aassholes!

Fox: I Was Over-Medicated In Stem Cell Ad

CBS News Exclusive: Parkinson's-Afflicted Actor Tells Katie Couric He Wasn't Acting In Ad

(CBS/AP) Responding to criticism by conservative pundit Rush Limbaugh, actor Michael J. Fox defended his appearance in a political campaign ad, saying he wasn't acting or off his medication.

In fact, at the time he was over-medicated for his Parkinson's disease, Fox said Thursday in an exclusive interview with CBS Evening News anchor Katie Couric

In case you didn't catch it...

Olbermann Gives Us The Visual To Limbaugh's Attack On Michael J. Fox

"By now everyone has heard Limbaugh's little commentary about Michael J. Fox's appearance in the ad for Claire McCaskill. Well tonight Keith Olbermann supplied us with the visual to accompany Rush's latest show of idiocy."

I missed the Olberman commentary, jobot...THANK YOU for posting that! :D

No, Couric isn't someone I watch. either....but finally the Republicans are shitting such big piles of crap and falling back into it as this election approaches, even the msm is having to cover stories they might not otherwise have...Limbaugh has made an incredible fool of himself...even bigger than the fat fool he actually is....if you believe that's possible.
