The one below is from Senator Clinton's site but I think it would be fun if we came up with songs for all the candidates, Democratic and Republican.

1. "City Of Blinding Lights" by U2

2. "Suddenly I See" by KT Tunstall

3. "I'm a Believer" by Smash Mouth

4. "Get Ready" by The Temptations

5. "Ready To Run" by The Dixie Chicks

6. "Rock This Country" by Shania Twain

7. "Beautiful Day" by U2

8. "Right Here, Right Now" by Jesus Jones

9. "I'll Take You There" by The Staple Singers

GREAT IDEA! I'LL HAVE TO THINK ON IT BEFORE I CONTRIBUTE BUT IT'S GOING TO BE REALLY INTERESTING TO SEE WHAT EVERYONE COMES UP WITH.

Thanks, annie, for starting this thread.

Imagine--Dennis Kucinich

Maybe it is me imagining, he has the right position on so many issues but will never be chosen as the candidate.

REM's "Ignoreland" for the GOP candidates

These bastards stole their power from the victims of the us v. them years,
Wrecking all things virtuous and true.
The undermining social democratic downhill slide into abysmal
Lost lamb off the precipice into the trickle down runoff pool.
They hypnotised the summer, nineteen seventy-nine.
Marched into the capital brooding duplicitous, wicked and able, media-ready,
Heartless, and labeled. super u.s. citizen, super achiever,
Mega ultra power dosing. relax.
Defense, defense, defense, defense. yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. ignoreland. yeah, yeah, yeah. ignoreland.

Flip Romney

The Hokey Pokey

You put your right foot in
You put your right foot out
You put your right foot in
And you shake it all about.
You do the Hokey-Pokey
And you turn yourself around
That's what it's all about!
You put your left foot in
You put your left foot out
You put your left foot in
And you shake it all about.
You do the Hokey-Pokey
And you turn yourself around
That's what it's all about!

Maybe I hang around here
A little more than I should
We both know I got somewhere else to go
But I got something to tell you
That I never thought I would
But I believe you really ought to know

I love you
I honestly love you

Good one annie. They look so happy together. Turtles right? "Imagine me and you a duo, I think about you day and night"..............

Imagine GW as Charon in this one, and you're just another tax payer, forced along for the ride.

Chris De Burgh - Don't Pay The Ferryman Lyrics

It was late at night on the open road,
Speeding like a man on the run,
A lifetime spent preparing for the journey;

He is closer now and the search is on,
Reading from a map in the mind,
Yes there's the ragged hill,
And there's the boat on the river. And when the rain came down,
He heard a wild dog howl,
There were voices in the night - "Don't do it!"
Voices out of sight - "Don't do it!
Too many men have failed before,
Whatever you do,

Don't pay the ferryman,
Don't even fix a price,
Don't pay the ferryman,
Until he gets you to the other side;" In the rolling mist, then he gets on board,
Now there'll be no turning back,
Beware that hooded old man at the rudder,
And then the lightning flashed, and the thunder roared,
And people calling out his name,
And dancing bones that jabbered and a-moaned
On the water. And then the ferryman said,
"There is trouble ahead,
So you must pay me now," - "Don't do it!"
"You must pay me now," - "Don't do it!"
And still that voice came from beyond,
"Whatever you do,

Don't pay the ferryman,
Don't even fix a price,
Don't pay the ferryman,
Until he gets you to the other side;

Don't pay - the ferryman!"

FRED THOMPSON (the new guy entering the race)

Won't Get Fooled Again

And the world looks just the same
And history ain't changed
'Cause the banners, they are flown in the next war

Meet the new boss
Same as the old boss

I think it was George W. Bush:

"There's an old saying in Tennessee - I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee - that says, fool me once, shame on - shame on you. Fool me - you can't get fooled again."
