BOORISH, IGNORANT BEHAVIOR

Was it a funeral? Or was it a political rally? Sadly, both. No .. I didn't watch it. It's hard to watch television when you're under general anesthesia. But I did manage to listen to some sound clips and watch a bit of video [view Lowery and presidents] yesterday evening. It looks like there were some old leftist warhorses at the Coretta Scott King funeral yesterday who were determined to use the occasion to get in some shots against President Bush. In today's politics, that wasn't surprising. You do remember the Paul Wellstone funeral in Minnesota, don't you? The 2002 memorial service turned into a full-fledged campaign rally for Walter Mondale who was running against Republican Norm Colman for Wellstone's seat. Republicans at this memorial service, Trent Lott, for instance, were booed by the crowd. Some pundits believe that this memorial-service-turned-political-rally had much to do with the Democrats miserable performance in the 2002 mid-term elections.

This repugnant behavior was to be expected out of Joseph Lowery. He chose the occasion of the funeral of the widow of Martin Luther King Jr. to announce that we found no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, Never mind that Lowery is wrong. He's often wrong. For Lowery, the race baiting and liberal dogma always comes before fact and logic. He didn't measure up as President of King's SCLC, and he didn't measure up to the task of being a gentleman and honoring Coretta Scott King yesterday.

Then there was Jimmy Carter. Some people refer to Carter as "America's best ex-president." Well, if you want to consider his empowerment of people like Kim Jong Ill and Hugo Chavez as good for America, then you may have a point. If measuring the worth of a former president consists of measuring his affection for the world's dictators, then Carter is indeed one of the best. Carter used the occasion of this funeral to take a jab at bush over the NSA wiretaps. Carter has declared them to be illegal. Now he's a judge and a legal scholar. Carter brought up the fact that the FBI wiretapped Martin Luther King. He didn't mention that this happened under Democratic administrations. He also failed to mention that it was under a Democratic institution that tapes of those wiretaps, tapes purportedly showing instances of MLK's infidelities, were surreptitiously sent to his wife.

President Bush knew that this would happen when he went to the funeral. He knew that Democrats and liberals would use an overwhelmingly friendly audience to take their shots. He showed great dignity in sitting there and taking it all in stride. Bush stood tall, Lowery and Carter stooped low.

This, then, seems to be the new standard for funerals and memorial services for liberal icons. The TV cameras will be there. Millions will be watching, and emotions will be raw. What a great time to get in some political digs! Both Joseph Lowery and Jimmy Carter should be ashamed. Sadly, they don't have the class to understand that.

Umm, Chavez isn't a dictator, dude. He was elected by an overwhelming majority of his countrymen, sick to death of being enslaved by American Corporations. He is a brave man, and has proved himself to be able to walk his talk. We should be lucky enough to find a man so good to run this country. Why should he be *good for America*? The last I knew, he was the elected leader of a seperate country, with no affiliation to the US except through diplomacy channels.

You know what bucky, shut the fuck up about remarks made at the funerals of progressive civil rights leaders and lifelong champions of the poor and oppressed in this country. You regressive power sluts have no right to comment on the last rights of OUR LEADERS. They mean nothing to you other than a chance to make a cheap political gain. We can talk politics at their funerals if we want, because THEY ARE OUR LEADERS, NOT YOURS. KEEP YOUR OWN POINTY NOSE IN YOUR OWN BUSINESS. Keep your opinion on their services to youself, you puny piece of shit. If you don't like what is said at the funerals of progressive leaders, then DON'T WATCH OR LISTEN! NOBODY ASKED YOU TO PAY ANY ATTENTION. LEAVE US ALONE TO RESPECT OUR LEADERS AS WE SEE FIT.

YOU DISRESPECTFUL ASSHOLE! IT'S NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS!

My gawd the indignity of the right-wingers over this! Watching the news last night, one regressive after another expressed outrage over the inappropriate remarks made by those heartless liberals at Corretta Scott King's funeral. Just as they did with the Paul Wellstone funeral, Republican pundits were climbing over each other to get the chance to lambast graceless progressives for daring to speak about such things as civil rights and the plight of poor Americans at a service for a champion of civil rights and for the poor.

Perhaps if regressive Republicans could muster some genuine outrage for civil rights violations and about the plight of poor Americans, progressives wouldn't feel compelled to talk about these subjects at the funerals of their friends who were champions of those causes.

Jimmy Carter’s Bitterness in Bad Taste

The New York Post is blasting ex-President Jimmy Carter for trying to hijack Coretta Scott King's funeral in a bid to "score cheap political points" against President Bush.

"Jimmy Carter may or may not have been the worst president of the 20th century," the paper said. "But his disgraceful performance yesterday at Coretta Scott King's funeral marks him as the most shameless."

While other speakers did their best to honor the first lady of the civil rights movement, Carter played the race card, resurrecting bogus claims that the Bush administration's response to Hurricane Katrina was bigoted.

"We only have to recall the color of the faces of those in Louisiana, Alabama and Mississippi who are most devastated by Katrina to know that there are not yet equal opportunities for all Americans," the failed peanut farmer said.

Then, in a bit of comedic irony, Carter tried to zing Bush for his terrorist surveillance program - by referencing the wiretapping of Martin Luther King that had been ordered by the Kennedy administration.

Of course, the bitter-sounding Georgian never acknowledged that it was Democrats who had violated the King family's constitutional rights.

The paper also criticized Rev. Joseph Lowery, who interrupted his tribute to Mrs. King to register his opposition to the Iraq war.

"We know now there were no weapons of mass destruction over there," he said. "But Coretta knew and we knew that there are weapons of misdirection right down here. Millions without health insurance. Poverty abounds. For war, billions more, but no more for the poor."

But as an ex-president who should know better, the Post said Carter's offense was worse, contending that he had demeaned both "the occasion as well as the woman who was being honored by four presidents."

Rush: Democrats Are a ‘Bunch of Cowards’

Top radio talker Rush Limbaugh, in a rare TV appearance on Fox News Channel - opened the clip and unloaded his rapid-fire opinions on a host of topics, political and otherwise.

Limbaugh, interviewed by Fox host Neil Cavuto, blasted Democrats for being "a bunch of cowards” for their seemingly endless attacks on President Bush, Supreme Court Justice Sam Alito and others.

Limbaugh reserved particular contempt for former President Jimmy Carter and his inappropriate comments made at Coretta Scott King's funeral celebration. "I think Coretta Scott King and MLK Jr., if there is to be any anger from above looking down at that event, it would be from them,” Limbaugh said. "For a former president, no less, to take these cheap partisan shots, makes the Democrats look like the angry people that they really are ... mean-spirited, discourteous and wrong.”

Hey bucky, you left out part of Rush's comments. How did you miss this part?

Quote:
Rush: Here you might want to have your own version of this in your office or your home today. The end of the funeral, when it's all over, how many women will be picked up? The next question we're asking ourselves, how many babies will be born nine months from today?

Transcript from pig boy's show

What a talking pile of pigshit! Do you find that comment respectful, bucky? You , Rush and all of the other regressive bastards couldn't give a flying fart about Corretta Scott King. All you are worried about is that your little monkey dictator was embarrassed by the talk of his totalitarian ideology in contrast to the ideals of liberty and civil rights exemplified by Mrs. King.

Deal with it.

I forgot that republicans are honest, respectfull, eqaul rights going people. I remember back in the Nixon era when smear ads started, by repub's. theres nothing like starting something and someone else getting better than you at it. Then its not fair. Dems are not allowed to act like repubs....nooooo nooooo. Didnt limp-ball just get busted a few months ago for making a racist remark about blacks having too many babies and not being able to support them and thats what was dragging down welfare or was that someone else. Boy I love how the all might smiter Dubya said today that theres too much competition with other countries so he cuts education. Thats right keep people stupid so they'll follow your stupid agenda. Only the wealthy can afford education, and the wealthy end up being the Right wing. Limgaugh is a pill poppin, alcoholic, fat pile of dog shit. I cannot believe educated people actually listen to him and believe what he says is true. Wow....just wow
