Minnesota storm kills 10-year-old
September 17, 2006

ROGERS, Minnesota (AP) -- A severe storm swept through this Minnesota town, killing a 10-year-old girl, damaging hundreds of homes and scattering debris across the city, officials said Sunday.

The girl was at a neighbor's house with her 19-year-old brother when it collapsed about 10 p.m. Saturday, Police Chief Keith Oldfather said.

I actually missed that story Catherine. Thanks for posting it. Very sad. Sounded like they were even in the basement. I really feel for the parents and family. :(

I wouldn't say a tornado in Sept is due to climate change. As long as you can have a thunderstorm you can have a tornado. It is the end of summer beginning of fall, not winter. To be honest, I have heard thunder in the middle of winter and have seen rain in Febrary here, and it wasn't recent. It happens. Weather is weather and has and always will be unpredictable.
