Well, a dictatorship would be easier.

I have a question...would the American military be obligated to obey orders given by a commander-in-chief if he has declared himself dictator? This is very confusing to me because the Constitution is being trampled on by the Bushies everyday. How can a military force be required to obey the commands of a president who has abandoned his own oath to protect and defend the Constitution?

There are not even supposed to be standing armies Catherine, and this was written into the Constitution with an understanding that with a standing army established it would be possible for it to be used against the people.

There is going to be a civil war here whether we want one or not and our military will be used against the people with the belief that they are once again fighting for the benifit of the country. The big question is, how many of the soldiers will realize the truth of what is happening and refuse to fight for this corrupt government and make the choice to fight against it.
