Lame Duck Republicans Contemplating Pushing Vote On Abortion Bill

Washington, DC (AHN) - Lame duck Republicans might push legislation defining a 20-week-old fetus as a "pain-capable unborn child." Scientists find that particular threshold age controversial while anti-abortion activists support that benchmark and pro-abortion activists reject it.

Last year, researchers at the University of California, San Francisco reviewed dozens of studies and medical reports on fetal pain. They concluded that it was unlikely that fetuses were capable of feeling pain until they were 28-weeks-old, which is around the seventh month of pregnancy.

I would believe the researchers.

But neat trick--to legislate that a fetus feels pain at 20 weeks, eh? Those Rs, they are full of it!

We must first classify what a fetus is.

Since it is not a person, it is not classified as so.

We care not about anything non human going through pain. (see factory farms)

Therefore, fetal pain is irrelevant to the discussion.

this is another case where I dont give 2 shits about what people "believe" Not a single credible person believes life begins at conception. (this bible even gives evidence to the contrary of this" And when I hear conservetives say they believe this, I ask them to prove it. There only response is either "the bible says so" which is wrong, or "that just what I believe", or iow, they just really dont know why they believe that, they just want to believe that. Beliefs for the sake of believe are by far the most dangerous ones.
