OK, with all the military technology out there, isn't there something to detect roadside bombs? Is there anyone who hasn't heard "roadside bomb" kills X-number of troops? Roadside Bomb, Roadside Bomb, Roadside Bomb, Roadside Bomb, Roadside Bomb. There is something wrong with this picture.
Is there no way to track or test these bombs or pieces of them for their origin? Let me guess .. ahh .. I got it .. Iraq. I've seen some pictures of the holes or more like craters left by some these bombs and they are massive. Have they not found any unexploded? This is getting old and there "is" something wrong with this picture. Oh and How can anyone really trust a private / corporate army in Iraq or anywhere? I hear they number around 120,000 or so now and make upwards to 150 to 200 thousand a tour. I wonder what the troops make? Will they be crossovers for more money and is that where we are headed?

He was assigned to the 1st Squadron, 14th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division (Stryker Brigade Combat Team), Fort Lewis, Wash.

Staff Sgt. Russell K. Shoemaker, 31, of Sweet Springs, Mo. died May 24 in Baghdad, Iraq, of wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near their vehicle. They were assigned to 1st Brigade Transition Team, and attached to the 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kansas

Spc. Mark R. C. Caguioa, 21, of Stockton, Calif., died May 24 at the National Naval Medical Center, Bethesda, Md., of wounds suffered on May 4 in Baghdad, Iraq, when the vehicle he was in struck an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas.

Lance Cpl. David P. Lindsey, died May 25 from a non-hostile incident in Al Anbar province, Iraq. His death is under investigation. Lindsey was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C.

Spc. Alexander Rosa Jr., 22, of Orlando, Fla., died May 25 in Muqdadiyah, Iraq, of wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle.He was assigned to the 89th Military Police Brigade, Fort Hood, Texas.

Pvt. William L. Bailey III, 29, of Bellevue, Neb., died May 25, in Taji, Iraq, of wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle. Bailey was assigned to the 755th Chemical Reconnaissance/Decontamination Company, Nebraska Army National Guard, O'Neill, Neb.

Spc. Mathew P. LaForest, 21, of Austin, Texas, was assigned to 4th Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment, 4th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, Fort Lewis, Wash. died May 25 in Taji, Iraq, of injuries suffered when his unit came in contact with enemy forces using small arms fire during combat operations.

Pfc. Casey P. Zylman, 22, of Coleman, Mich., died May 25 in Mosul, Iraq, of wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle May 24 in Tallafar, Iraq. He was assigned to the 3rd Squadron, 4th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.

Spc. Erich S. Smallwood, 23, of Trumann, Ark, died May 26, near Balad, Iraq, of wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle. He was assigned to A Company, 875th Engineer Battalion of the Arkansas Army National Guard in Marked Tree, Ark.

Sgt. Nicholas R. Walsh, died May 26 from wounds suffered while conducting combat operations in Al Anbar province, Iraq. He was assigned to the 1st Reconnaissance Battalion, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif.

Spc. Clinton C. Blodgett, 19, of Pekin, Ind., died May 26 in Baghdad, Iraq, when the vehicle he was in struck an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 18th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Schweinfurt, Germany.

Spc. Francis M. Trussel Jr., 21, of Lincoln, Ill., died May 26 in Tahrir, Iraq, of wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his position. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 12th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas.

Pfc. Charles B. Hester, 23, of Cataldo, Idaho, died May 26 in Baghdad, Iraq, of wounds suffered when the vehicle he was in struck an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 3rd Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division (Stryker Brigade Combat Team), Fort Lewis, Wash.

The count is up to 3452 now. This has been the deadliest month so far. Bush promises more to come.

I have wanted to look around for pictures, haven't taken the time. Considering these people are losing their lives 'for America', I should MAKE time to look for pictures.

This is Memorial Day weekend. So many more to remember than a year ago. And I hope people remember those who served and came back struggling with the damages from this war. Whole people went over, splintered people came back.

I am not a religious person, but I still pray for sanity in this world to return (or at least start).
