If you have pets...usually a cat or a dog...you have a head start as far as understanding cops.

If you observe your pet...you will observe that they usually won't notice anything until it moves...then they will want to stalk or chase it.

If it stays still...they sometimes won't notice it at all.

Cops are similar in nature...but in their case, what they are stalking or chasing usually needs to "act suspicious" for them to get interested. Professional criminals know this...they blend in.

Of course...acting suspiciously has next to nothing to do with breaking a law...it's probably more defined as behaving out of the ordinary...i.e....you are not acting in the same way as the other herd animals that they continually watch, stalk, and hunt.

Or you might happen to act in a way that fits some predefined profile.

This is probably why herd animals like to group and run together...for protection from predators...the lone dog or the pack will be attracted to the animal that acts differently...or lags behind. Then the technique is to harry and harass the animal...exhausting it and trying to get it to make a fatal mistake.

Like dogs...cops like to chase and hunt in packs. Some work in pairs.

And some work alone. Cats certainly do.

The fact that this kind of behavior might tend to stifle any expression of life or creativity is probably lost on the pack....they are into the hunt...and the take down. Similar in nature to....if not the same as...criminal behavior. Or a street gang.

Like a cat...cops will try to hide their presence if possible...and will usually try to sneak up on their prey. I haven't seen too many shuffling their hind legs like a cat does before pouncing...but it's possible that they do.

Some dogs have a psychological problem...where they will end up chasing their own tails in a circle.

Dogs & cops that run in a pack have been known to chase each others "tails" (tales)...such as a cop having a "suspicion" and then chasing it...and getting the other cops in his "pack" to do the same.

The fact that this suspicion is a kind of "figment of imagination" isn't really relevant to the pack...it's just the hunting response in action. Anything for a good chase...a take down....and some fun?

Some other similarities are...that like dogs...cops like to sniff things...they usually like to have have their noses deep in your "business".

And it can be a major job keeping them out of your trash.

Interesting...

cUDYXubu, what do you have against cops? :?

Nope, this topic is exactly where it should be...in the Funny Farm. Last time I looked, we did not have a "Cops Suck" forum, nor is there likely to ever be one at TVNL.

I have a few minor issues with cops, but even more issues with the large mass of terrorized citizens in the US who can't even bring themselves to talk about police related issues.

These are citizens that are being terrorized by their own government's sponsored terrorists. The endless wars on drugs...and pretty much everything else. A prison population growing at 3Xs the rate of the overall population.

But of course the main stream media doesn't talk too much about this. Not too sure why. Could it be part of a war on sanity? :D

But I'm glad you asked the question above...maybe you'll allow a free discussion of these issues? That is assuming there would actually be a discussion...which I doubt.

Of course! Just because a topic is in the Funny Farm doesn't mean it can't be an open topic for discussion. :D

They are agents of authority and do the bidding of their masters. We do have some writings about the police here somewhere. I don't have a great love for them either. If their jobs were to be as fair and balanced as they could be- but they tend to be unfair and imbalanced when it comes to the breeding grounds, as they call the lower classes.

If they'd just stick to their jobs and not enforce the doctrines of society then the whole nature of oppression could receive a facelift- be the example that they were designed to be- not the enforcers of elitist based laws. Power corrupts and privilege usually ensues. These people feel above us and so find it easty to dehumanize us when we confront them in a crisis situation.

Everyone knows the deal is fixed and the police are there to maintain that order. Doesn't mean there aren't good people doing their jobs though! The same is true in politics or religion- just not enough good people to maintain that level of excellence. It's a universal problem here on planet earth.

Leonard Cohen- Everybody Knows
(co-written by Sharon Robinson)

Everybody knows that the dice are loaded
Everybody rolls with their fingers crossed
Everybody knows that the war is over
Everybody knows the good guys lost
Everybody knows the fight was fixed
The poor stay poor, the rich get rich
That's how it goes
Everybody knows

Everybody knows that the boat is leaking
Everybody knows that the captain lied
Everybody got this broken feeling
Like their father or their dog just died

Everybody talking to their pockets
Everybody wants a box of chocolates
And a long stem rose
Everybody knows

Everybody knows that you love me baby
Everybody knows that you really do
Everybody knows that you've been faithful
Ah give or take a night or two
Everybody knows you've been discreet
But there were so many people you just had to meet
Without your clothes
And everybody knows

Everybody knows, everybody knows
That's how it goes
Everybody knows

Everybody knows, everybody knows
That's how it goes
Everybody knows

And everybody knows that it's now or never
Everybody knows that it's me or you
And everybody knows that you live forever
Ah when you've done a line or two
Everybody knows the deal is rotten
Old Black Joe's still pickin' cotton
For your ribbons and bows
And everybody knows

And everybody knows that the Plague is coming
Everybody knows that it's moving fast
Everybody knows that the naked man and woman
Are just a shining artifact of the past
Everybody knows the scene is dead
But there's gonna be a meter on your bed
That will disclose
What everybody knows

And everybody knows that you're in trouble
Everybody knows what you've been through
From the bloody cross on top of Calvary
To the beach of Malibu
Everybody knows it's coming apart
Take one last look at this Sacred Heart
Before it blows
And everybody knows

Everybody knows, everybody knows
That's how it goes
Everybody knows

Oh everybody knows, everybody knows
That's how it goes
Everybody knows

Everybody knows

Well there is free speech and there is FREE SPEECH? I've noticed over and over that with certain unpopular...not politically correct subjects...that they seem to be shunted into a corner...and sometimes even deleted.

Maybe an area called "Crap you don't even WANT to read about" would work out best? :D :D :D I see several something like this already...maybe just one more?

If you, as a member, are looking to get down and dirty, there's the STEEL CAGE in which specific topics are moved by the admin staff when the topic is a hot one or when it begins to heat up during the discussion. You seem to be confused as to how the forums are moderated.

Read the guidelines for posting...especially if you've not read them before now. http://tvnewslies.org/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=6862 They are explained in a very straightforward way, up to and including what constitutes free speech on this privately owned board. If you have comments or questions after you've read the guidelines, send a pm to one of the admin staff.

Please carry on with whatever it is you wish to say about cops. You've received several responses, so.... Follow the guidelines and you should have no problem.

I've moved this somewhat controversial topic from the Funny Farm to this forum, mainly because the member who posted it originally seemed to indicate he wanted to discuss it in a more serious manner than can usually be achieved in its original location.

Maybe he'll return and carry on with the topic.
