Christian leaders to Knesset: Forgive us
Some 200 Christian leaders representing hundreds of thousands of Bible-believers from different nations filed into Israel's parliamentary building (the Knesset) Wednesday to ask for forgiveness for centuries of Christian anti-Semitism.
The visitors were hosted by the Knesset Christian Allies Caucus (KCAC) -- a three-year-old parliamentary caucus established to facilitate close official cooperation between Christian supporters of Israel and the Jewish state.
As the gathering stood in solemn silence before three Knesset members, and a number of other Israelis, a "letter of repentance" prepared by an organization called Capitol Hill Prayer Partners, and endorsed by dozens of other Christian groups, was read aloud.
It acknowledged the "crimes committed against the Jewish people throughout history in the name of Christianity."
We have sinned against God and against you," letter continued.
