All right, I doubt that anyone is going to be thunderstruck by an introduction post. But here's mine, anyway:

As far as social issues go, I'm about as liberal as they come (except for abortion, but that's a whole different story). Fiscally, on the other hand, I'm very conservative: not quite a deficit hawk, but close. By analogy, you might remember a quote from Einstein saying that scientific theories should be as simple as possible, but no simpler. Well, I think that government should be as small as possible, but no smaller.

I'm also from a family of print journalists, so I've always thought that "broadcast journalism" is an oxymoron.

You might like Ac/Dc as well.

Welcome on here. Understandably we all want fiscal responsability but by merely curtailing so much funding to the military one could entertain the thought of fiscal funding being used at home to repair the staggering flaws in such vital things like our infrastructures, such as oil dependance, and near failing energy grids. One might ask why they're not in a hurry to find new enrgy alternatives and update these things, but then again maybe our politicians don't care about whether America survives as it is now or not.

Welcome to the site and start posting.
