Condi accepts that Iraq is ‘a stain’ on her legacy.
Quote:
In an analysis of Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice’s efforts to “reshape her legacy,” New York Times reporter Helene Cooper notes today that Rice “is trying hard to rewrite her legacy to include something more than Iraq.” As for Iraq, Rice’s “colleagues and friends say that
she has accepted that Iraq is a stain that she probably cannot remove before she leaves office.”
Stain is right. Blood stain. Figuratively all over your hands, missie!
I don't think she can "wash her hands" of it, either. Nor be allowed to.
This quote is precious:
Quote:
In fact, her friends say that she rarely questions whether she is right or wrong, instead choosing to believe in a particular truth with absolute certainty until she doesn’t believe it anymore, at which point she moves on. “Now you’ve got me trying to psycho-analyze myself,” she complained.
Shows how little a self-conscience she has. But you got to wonder how she can still believe in any particular truths she had about Iraq early on. All those old truths just simply aren't true anymore. Never have been.
And a big "NO SHIT" to:
Quote:
... she acknowledged, ever so obliquely, that her first four years working for the Bush administration were not her best.
