Hi, My name is A'sta, I live in New Hampshire with my partner Steve, and our kids.
We are self employed and enjoy nature and country life. I grew up in the city, escaped about 11 years ago.
We have a small homestead, we really enjoy being self sufficient, our hens give us eggs, we have a couple of goats and horses, we try not to buy any factory farmed meats, so we raise some of our own.
I am a free thinker.... I am a liberal in many ways, vote democrat, but I do believe in the right to bear arms and some of my other views may run to conservative, perhaps I am really a centrist, but I can't stand neo-cons, and fundies freak me out a little bit.
Glad I stumbled on the site and I look forward to sharing thoughts with you all.

GOSH, you could have written my auto a few years ago. Still live in the country on 8 1/2 acres, no longer raise stock, bujt try to buy locally raised food.

I consider myself a moderate liberal and lean to fiscal conservatism. I believe we should balance the budget by reducing the war department by at least 2/3, oil subsidies by 100%, illiminate the commerce dept, illiminate military foreign aid, Illiminate all nuclear weapons programs in the US, surge the peace corp, surge environmental research programs, education, infrastructure, security (police and firemen), repeal the tax cuts, restore taxes on corporations, and STOP ALL INTERFERENCE AND INVASIONS OF OTHER COUNTRIES !!!!

Work withing the UN and restore all international treaties, previously agreed to.

Spend 100 billion per year to illiminate starvation, putrid drinking water, land mines, cluster bombs, oil pollution, nuclear pollution and poverty.

When it comes to other social issues....wow! I really have some conservative ideas. Nothing to do with gays, guns, God or abortion.
