That is the sort of blanket statement which has led to our current problems. Bigger government does not necessarily mean less freedom. Just ask the people of Norway, or France, or England, Or Canada. These are socialist states which have protected the freedom of their people, while also doing everything possible to help their people.

Socialism has been proven to work very well in many countries.

In the US we have embarked upon an unproven voyage of unfettered, unregulated global capitalism for the past 25 years. How has that worked for us?

Where in this statement did I fail to qualify what has happened here?


England is perhaps more of a police state than the US is.

Actually, this forum is simply a place for introductions to be made and welcomes to be issued. It's not the best place for debate, one way or the other. That can be done more appropriately in several other forums, such as the POLI-TALK forums or the ELECTIONS forum. To discuss views on Ron Paul and other presidential candidates, go into one of those forums and have at it.
