Or at least, that's what some backwards muslims were thinking, when they persecuted that English teacher in the Sudan, who dared have her class of little kiddies name some stuffed animal the same name as a bunch of privileged muslim dudes.

Guess, I'll just have to dust off that rag-a-muffin, one-eared, dragged-around, saliva-dried, christian symbol I used to call "Flumpy". Then I'll lay it on my pillow and pray the Lord's Prayer to it.

So, all that time I was talking to it, was I really confessing?

This reminds me of the restriction of my childhood against naming anyone Jesus unless of course you were Hispanic and used the Spanish "Hey Suse" pronunciation. The number of Jesuses I have known personally always ended up being called Jessie or some other nickname in Anglo company.

I wonder if there are kids named Buddha, who end up with the nickname, "Buddy"?

Here's a prime example of religious ignorance that almost compares with the teddy bear story:

Jesus, Then the Dinosaurs, Then the Greeks

Here’s an easy question: What’s worse, someone who doesn’t know anything about the world or someone who tries to spread his or her ignorance to others on national television? “The View’s” Sherri Shepard, who once admitted she didn’t know if the world was flat, insists that “Jesus came first before [the Greeks and Romans]” and “I don’t think anything predated Christians.” Really? What about Pangea?

Clearly, this woman has never heard the meaning of the expression BC

It is strange that the name Jesus is sort of "reserved" to one ethnic group.

All the other names in the bible, be it John, Paul, Luke, Isiah, Abraham can be found in many different ethnic groups. But the one name that should be exhalted the most in the christian faith doesn't get much naming rights. Jesus H!

And to think, the name Jesus has actually gone through some derivations to be easier to pronounce, or whatever. I mean, it could easily have been Jeshua.

Or Hey Zeus! Damn those geeks and their real gods- now all we have is cheap imitations- like teddy bears.

Teddy bears are so gawd awful cute tho' ain't they? Mine was named Tuddley and he was the best protector I've ever known.

Ah! Some of art tought that all we have to do is "believe" and the lord will guide and "protect" us.

But who fights our imaginary battles between good and evil? None other than Teddy the Crusader! 8)
