Just finished reading this very funny book by Periel Aschenbrand. Just wanted to recommend it. Completely hilarious.

As well as the above mentioned book, there are a few others I really have to recommend. Most of them are old, but I was lucky enough to get a Barnes and Noble gift card for $40 for Vday and I got 6 kinda old, but great books.

Super wonderful book called: The Future Dictionary of America

here's one of the wonderful definitions:

Quote:
ashcrofted [ash'-froff-tid] adj. removed from or disqualified for public office on grounds of religious delusions. Derived from The People v. President Ashcroft, the landmark Supreme Court decision that disqualifies all candidates for public office who espouse a religion and/or other organized forms of magical, delusional, or psychotic thinking, on the Constitutional grounds of separation of church and state, a decision taken at the time of the restoration of the Constitution following upon the dynastic, so-called "anti-terrorist" or "neopatriot" ear. ---Robert Coover Pg. 17 of the above mentioned book)

I would have to suspend by reasoning faculties beyond comprehension to believe that Ashcroft could be elected anything other than dance monitor at the local high school. This was the putz that lost re-election in to Senate to a dead guy! The war criminal rewarded him for his failure by making him AG.

I love books too lefty. Don't read now but read everything I could get my hands on while I could. The ones you recommend sound great.

APL, that is stunning isn't it--Ashcroft lost the election to a dead guy. That is something to think about...
