How close are all of you to Burlington, VT? My stepson will be stationed there soon with the Coast Guard.

Ah, mga, Strong Memorial is my hospital of coice. Better than the berg I live in. I am in Batavia--the town that is, not the city.

Are you going to see Bush today????? I hear it is a sellout. Um, or was that that Bush is a sellout?

Nice to meet you and welcome!

Hmmm, so which Bush excites you? The twins I bet.

Actually the lilac bushes in Rochester are what excite me--ummm, one could walk on that delicious fragrance.

well, dori...i had to ride out to get a trailer inspected today and there were more cops on the road than in a hollywood movie, especially along 390 (north was closed all the way from the airport to greece)

i drive a white cargo van and all the windows are tinted...as we drove past (even the SS) all we got were stares and they watched my van very closely..lol

nonetheless, i wasn't impressed because they closed many roads and traveling was difficult...all because of one nit-wit.

i've been to the lilac fest once, sorry to say.

Understandable Stripey. One can only do so much at a time. Good luck with your move.

mga, I can only imagine what traveling has to be like. What a nightmare. I wonder how much this trip is going to cost the city--as if it didn't have better things to do with it's money.

I never go to the lilac festival--to many people. But the lilacs are still there afterward, and one can enjoy them even more. The pansy patch is always beautiful too.

Easy to see why Rochester is the 'flower city'.

I'm still here.

The middle of the month I have to put out a 32 page newsletter and that takes up a great deal of time.

And then there's the weather and the kids... There's always the kids.

Be thankful you're not on the east coast, Sea Moose... as they are having their THIRD Nor'Easter THIS MONTH... I wonder how often that has happened in the past... I wonder if it has EVER happened in the past...

Isn't that the truth?! It doesn't matter how old they get, we're still parents. We advanced one of the children a substantial sum of money today for moving and getting into his new apartment. He promises to pay us back, which he will....if he wants more where that came from! :P

I'll be babysitting the granddaughter (she's 9...and a sweetheart) for a couple of days next week. She and I are going "junking." That means we go to antique stores and junk or resale shops. We'll find some items that will be "shabby chic" which she'll take home to put in her room. Then we'll have lunch, somewhere nice, and then who knows? We'll definitely take some "hammock time..." We'll lie in the hammock, gaze up at the clouds through the trees, and talk "girl talk." :P We'll make cookies, read some stories to each other, do a little art project or two, and watch our favorite Britcom "Are You Being Served?" Before she goes to bed, she'll want to get in the hot tub on the back deck if the evening is cool enough and IF she remembers to pack her swimsuit.

Dori, I have 2 lilac bushes growing on my place...the section of the yard we call the "Old Playground" because that's where the kids and their friends would play when they were small. The lilacs are about 10 feet tall, and they've just finished blooming. Their fragrance from those blossoms was so strong, when the wind blew, I could smell them in the house if the windows were open.

Catherine
