When Andrew Hacker wrote his book "Two Nations..", it was a needed study about race and our society. Thankfully, he revised it years later with updates and further thoughts. Because society changed and so had the stats. (Very little in the case of his subject.)
It is this sort of revision the Bible needs. I'm thinking that if it did, the authors would surely have some words for today's generation.
Take Genesis. I can imagine the author would have a word or two to say to the literalists. Like, "On the subject of dinosaurs. We didn't mean for you all to try to fit millions of years of evolution into 6,000. Goes against evolution and nature. And if the dinosaurs lived with Adam and Eve, Adam and Eve wouldn't have survived."
