When Andrew Hacker wrote his book "Two Nations..", it was a needed study about race and our society. Thankfully, he revised it years later with updates and further thoughts. Because society changed and so had the stats. (Very little in the case of his subject.)

It is this sort of revision the Bible needs. I'm thinking that if it did, the authors would surely have some words for today's generation.

Take Genesis. I can imagine the author would have a word or two to say to the literalists. Like, "On the subject of dinosaurs. We didn't mean for you all to try to fit millions of years of evolution into 6,000. Goes against evolution and nature. And if the dinosaurs lived with Adam and Eve, Adam and Eve wouldn't have survived."

Take Noah's Ark. Please.

Since the new bible think puts dinosaurs in the biblical times, Noah's ark will have to include two dinosaurs, along with a couple of unicorns, and maybe some mystical creatures from the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings.

It's only fair.

I am amazed by the bible thumping yahoos that don't see the obvious fallacy of the bible as 100 percent literally true. Many of these bumpkins will tell you the "Mark of Cain" is obvious today—the Negro race. They then tell you about Noah's Ark where all but Noah and family died. Logic would say those with the Mark of Cain also died. So where did the Black Man of today come from? I follow the formula find one or more logical fallacy, suspect the veracity of the whole.
