Does anyone have any good memories of 2007 that you want to share?

I am sure I do Catherine, but right now I am still chewing on a big, bad memory and wondering if I can find a way to reverse it.

Kucinich went for impeachment. Wessler(sp) is going for impeachment. Pelosi has entered the impeachment cross hairs. Iran invasion has been pushed back.

Hooray for your boyfriend, lefty...he's a Good Man! What a wonderful gift. My sister told me on Christmas Eve that she'd looked for a book that counted down the days until Bush leaves offce but the bookstore that she went to was sold out! I guess that's good news!

You reminded me of some good happenings in 2007, PT...thanks.

Wouldn't a couple non-conflict karats be nicer?

I have told him I refuse to take any diamond. We have been talking about getting married for a while now and he has this very romantic idea of what getting married, proposing...ect. should be. I am having a very hard time convincing him that I actually do NOT want a diamond ring, I think he thinks I'm being modest or something, not wanting him to spend the money, but I honest wouldn't wear it if he gave it to me. He's stuck on the ring symbolizing commitment and all that. Any ideas what I could substitute for the diamond?

Wooo, Sorry that was WAY off topic.

Not to worry--how off topic can one get in the chit-chat bar and grill?

Does this have to be something you wear? What about one of the 'save the earth' organizations--a donation might bring something you can wear while showing your concern for our earth. That would mean far more to me than a piece of jewelry.

Just a thought.

this article says what some of the popular non-diamond engagement ring alternatives are.

Quote:
Most Popular Stones for NDERs

1. Blue Sapphire
2. Fancy Color Sapphire
3. Ruby/Emerald
4. Moissanite
5. Cubic Zirconia
6. Tanzanite
7. Opal

This thing about conflict free diamonds is appealing. This article talks about an ecommerce site that offers them -- brilliant earth.

To All My Friends here at TVNL—

Another year gone. Merry Christmas 2008. May we all be healthy and happy in the coming year. Keep up the good fight and don't let the bastards get you down or they win.

A bump for last year's wish.

Merry Christmas all,

They say that even if you say Merry XMas, you don't deter from the true meaning, because X is the Greek symbol for Christ.
