Is this another Chicken Little scenario or for real? Just in time for the summer vacation crowd, too!

U.S. swine flu linked to Mexico outbreak

The unique strain of swine flu found in California and Texas has been connected to the deadly flu that has broken out in Mexico, killing as many as 61 people, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control has confirmed.

The strain has never been seen before and is raising fears of a possible pandemic across North America.

The CDC's acting director Dr. Richard Besser announced Friday that an additional child in California tested positive for the swine flu, bringing the total number of U.S. cases to eight. All of the U.S. patients have recovered from the flu.

A few weeks ago...couple months at most, I made an offhand reference in regards to a vaccination maker sending LIVE avian flu viruses...actually, it was a hybrid...avian flu and another type which is most commonly carried by humans.

(Here is a quick link, if your interested, you can always dig up more)
http://www.infowars.com/%E2%80%98accidental%E2%80%99-contamination-of-vaccine-with-live-avian-flu-virus-virtually-impossible/

Now, my first thoughts when I originaly read about it some time back was "Whoah!!!!" The reason this ran through my mind was because of this "mistake", they could have very easily caused the "jump" which viruses make from other animals to humans. Yes, they were worried about the bird flu making this jump in its natural chain of events, but here they were accidentaly shipping the very vehicle for it to happen.

This to my mind was and is very dangerous. I at the time wondered IF it really was a mistake.

I think that this is very important to remember because this current flu which seem's to be taking hold also seems to have muliple characteristics. Look here

Quote:
"This is the first time that we've seen an avian strain, two swine strains and a human strain," said Daigle, adding that the virus had influenza strains from European and Asian swine, but not from North American swine.

http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=CNG.424c5b4c93103272a5d7bbabb402fdea.c1&show_article=1

Right now, they are trying to figure out how this strain combined in this way. From what I have read and heard, it is not supposed to work like this without "help".

Now, the question you asked....is it serious?

Well, its serious enough for Mexico to shut down
Quote:
Mexico shut down schools, museums, libraries and state-run theatres across it overcrowded capital Friday in hopes of containing a swine flu outbreak that authorities say killed at least 20 people - and perhaps dozens more.

http://www.macleans.ca/article.jsp?content=w242688322

The reason I'm a bit wary is because this is a hybrid strain present in a very populated area. This spells danger.

This strain is already a concoction of some very nasty little viruses all mixed up in one. What happens when, (not if, but when) it mutates? What happens if it mutates into a super virus, super contagious and very deadly?

Of course, we cant be sure, but I'm gonna watch this one very, very closely mostly because it is an odd sequence of events.

This smells to me, and I just do not like it.

Dave

Apparently it is similar to the 1918 flu which some of our geniuses dug up so they could play with it. There was a good show on that several years ago.

I am also highly suspicious.

Over 100 fatalities so far.

My grandparents lost their oldest son to this flu as an infant. It would be interesting to note how many of these deaths are children and infants.

If I remember correctly, I think I remember reading something about the deaths being mostly young, otherwise healthy adults.

I'll see if I can find where I read that.

Yes...it was the young and healthy. Their immune systems tore up their lungs trying to fight the virus.

Usually it is the old and the infants....this one is the opposite. So don't 'exercise your way to immunity' from this one.

At this point...the disinformation specialists have swooped in. I wouldn't believe very much of the current news. And the old news didn't have enough data to fully believe either.

I haven't heard of any cases in my state, although it's just a matter of time, I'm sure. I was in town this morning at a garden center looking at flowers. A woman came in and sneezed without covering her mouth and nose. I turned my buggy and went in the opposite direction!

Local reaction and actions tend towards making this an illegal immigration problem. Local sheriff, proud Klansman, has issued masks and gloves to deputies to deal with illegal immigrants.

You make a good point APL. The rednecks on the radio here in MS are constantly trying to blame any new illness on them damn illegals. As soon as I heard of this and it being from Mexico, I wondered at the origin. Hum? I have to say I have a hard time believing anything my government says.

I guess it's that "illegal" aspect that makes them such Typhoid Marys!

Spreading across this country are the very contagious and dangerous diseases called HATE, BIGOTRY, and INTOLERANCE. IGNORANT and LOW-INFORMED people are especially vulnerable. Chances of catching any or all of these dread diseases are greatly increased if you are exposed to FOX NEWS, RUSH LIMBAUGH, SARAH PALIN, MICHELLE BACHMAN, and/or ANYONE NAMED BUSH
.
