Appointment of a special counsel would be a good start.Exactly...I watched a bit of Holder's questioning this morning on CSPAN. One Republican senator really tried to pin down Holder on whether or not the Obama administration would hold any detainee who was considered to be a danger to the US, regardless of lack of REAL evidence. Holder became somewhat exasperated, because he'd already said that evidence would be considered...and I guess that was what the Repub senator didn't want to hear...Finally, Holder said they would not be releasing any person who was considered a "threat."
Now, they've got lots of evidence that lots of members of the Bush admin are guilty of numerous crimes, yet there seems to be lots of denying that fact. IMO, we've all been in serious danger from people like Cheney, Bush, Rumsfeld, and Rice, as well as many liars in the media for many years. How about holding the Bush admin accountable for their crimes, too, as well as any "guilty" detainee. But determine the guilt first...that's the rule of law. If America doesn't return to actually being a "nation of laws," that term will become laughable, if it hasn't already.
