In the Vietnam war, death reports were on TV every afternoon. In the war in Iraq, even though someone dies everyday, the only time deaths are reported is when it breaks into a new thousand. The MIC learned after Nam, that for the rest of their wars they would have to embed themselves in the media. And that is what has happened. Even the "reporters" in Iraq were embedded journalists going and reporting on and where the military wanted them to and the pentagon has even gone as far as to bring its own production teams to create staged events and pass it off as news, which again is swallowed and obediently reported by FOX ABCNNBCBS.

People tend to get pissed off when they or their kids are forced into wars. Of course, as we can see, as long as the people in the military choose to be there then most of the sheep have the luxury to remain ignorant because the war does not affect them in any meaningful way.
If it were not for the tradgedy, I would actually support a re institution of the draft as I have stated in the past. Perhaps that would get people angry enough to take some real action as their sons and daughters are no longer able to live in a shell of delusion.
Instead we will have to wait for the comming finacial implosion.
