On Monday, however, Cheney made sure to blanket the criminally prosecutable blame: "We all approved it," he said, as he continued his propaganda campaign for the declassification of non-existent proof of torture's non-existent effectiveness.

He also blamed the then-head of the counterterrorism program, Richard Clarke, for "obviously miss[ing]" 9/11's warning signs; and, in effect, he blamed CIA director George Tenet for the colossally imbecilic Iraq War: "The prime source of information on the relationship between Iraq and al-Qaeda was George Tenet.... That is not something I made up, that is not something I thought of. That is what the director of central intelligence was telling us."

But, as mentioned, we can always look at the upside: Dick Cheney simply cannot get any more despicable.

I know that this may sound odd, but I am actually glad that Cheney can not help but run his mouth, it is almost as if he is comming unhinged.

The way I see it, the more he runs his mouth, the more he sheds light on, (such as admitting finally that Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11 and never did....which we knew of course), but also, and more importantly, it seems as if he is begining to point fingers in order to save his own ass.

What I hope for now is that the people who Cheney is blaming, and mentioning by name, now come fourth and begin to speak themselves in condemnation of Cheney.

We want them at one anothers throat. Let the feeding begin.

I'd like to see Jesse Ventura waterboard him and force revelations about the modus operandum of his elite coterie for the past 40 years. Just sayin'.

Correct...Cheney sounds like he's already practicing for taking the witness stand in his own defense. Now that I'd love to see!

I can't believe he went after Clarke...who was obsessed with the Al Queda(sp) threat.

Clarke will go to court and rip the administration a new a**h**e. Unless he dies of two self-inflicted shotgun wounds. To the back of the head.

True...I'm no stranger to conspiracies.

I own Clarke's book, it is quite readable.

CIA Director says Cheney sounds like he is ‘wishing that this country would be attacked again.’ ]

In her profile of CIA Director Leon Panetta in this week’s New Yorker, Jane Mayer reports that Panetta believes former Vice President Dick Cheney’s criticism of the Obama administration’s approach to terrorism almost suggests “he’s wishing that this country would be attacked again”:

Panetta, pouring a cup of coffee, responded to Cheney’s speech with surprising candor. “I think he smells some blood in the water on the national-security issue,” he told me. “It’s almost, a little bit, gallows politics. When you read behind it, it’s almost as if he’s wishing that this country would be attacked again, in order to make his point. I think that’s dangerous politics

I remember back in 2004 when Lynne Cheney said of Kerry: "This is not a good man!"

At the time I was thinking to myself, look at your own husband when you say that, Lynne!

Every time Cheney speaks, I hear those words.

This is not a good man!

My thoughts are a good deal stronger, annie:

THERE SITS A GODDAMNED MONSTER WITH HIS MOTOR MOUTH RUNNING AT TOP SPEED.

AND Lynne Cheney is just as monstrous.

Why is Obama protecting Cheney? We should be prosecuting these crooks, not protecting them.

What's next, a pardon?
