Iran vows firmer hand after beatings, tear gas Thousands defy ban; Mousavi reportedly urges strike if he's arrested

TEHRAN, Iran - As police beat and fired tear gas at protesters in Tehran who defied a ban and the country's supreme leader, the nation's police chief said Saturday that his response would only get tougher if anti-government protests continue.

In Washington, U.S. President Barack Obama urged Iran to halt the "violent and unjust" crackdown, his bluntest language yet on the crisis. "Suppressing ideas never succeeds in making them go away," Obama said in a written statement.

In breaking news, The Iranian police are ready to play as tough as our own.

I'm glad that Obama is, once again, talking a great game.

On June 23, 2009, Big Brother Obama, following in the tradition of Big Brothers Bush and Cheney, declared that Oceania and the “entire world” are “appalled and outraged” by Iran’s violent efforts to crush protests organized by Oceania’s interference in Iran’s election. Meanwhile, Oceania continued its wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan, crushing people right and left while gearing up to bring peace to Iran. No one is outraged at the violence. War is Peace. Those who don’t fight wars can’t bring peace. Peace results when Big Brother’s hegemony extends over those regions that do not understand that War is Peace, Freedom is Slavery, and Ignorance is Strength.

At least the Dem's are in charge now eh PT? Soooo much better than them nasty Reps.

This is just surreal. Not only is there very little difference between the two partys, there is also very little difference between the two partys supporters.

Its ok. I believe that you reap what you sow. The lesson WILL be learned this time.

Yep....one of my user names is ministry of proles. Another is 2009 is 1984.

We are now just proles while the omniscient Thought Police increasingly analyze our thoughts, sales, purchases, writings, emails, phone calls, income, taxes, travel, sexual habits, banking, eating, and health histories.

I have a couple books on order. They detail how the left are the greatest thought police of them all. Making Obama ideal for the latest thrust by Oceania.

War is Peace. Freedom is Slavery. Ignorance is Strength.

Of course, those who don't cruise the internet are almost invisible for now until more telescreens are made available.
