Palin certainly does seem to be afraid of SOMETHING...methinks she prostests too much!!!!! As the writer in this piece says,
Quote:
Yes, she draws crowds, but so does Britney Spears, and I sure wouldn't vote for her to take up residence at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue
.
"

Huffington Post Blogger Shannyn Moore in Palin's Cross Hairs (UPDATED - Press Conference in Anchorage)

There is an old expression which says, "In a crisis, do nothing." Wise words indeed, which means that soon-to-be-ex-governor Sarah Palin no doubt would never heed them. She's sort of adopted another philosophy. It's more like, "In a crisis, fly off the handle, be reactionary and threaten to sue someone for defamation in the hopes of intimidating the entire blogosphere and all national print and televised media into not talking about something." I'm not an oddsmaker, but this strategy seems destined to become a crumpled up tin can on the refuse pile of epic failure.

There's no doubt that the week has been a bad one for the governor. It started with an unflattering Vanity Fair article. This was followed by a CBS piece detailing several leaked emails in which she asked the McCain campaign to lie about Todd Palin's 7-year membership in a secessionist party. McCain strategist Steve Schmidt responded to her request saying that Todd was a member, and it was a secessionist party and he wasn't going to create an issue in the media if it didn't exist already, nor would he lie for her.

More at the link.

I'll sue you for defamation!" is the toothless wonder of the legal world. The bluster is meant to scare people, intimidate them, and get them to be quiet. In this particular case, it's not going to work. Moore has already discussed the threat on her radio show, where she said emphatically, "Bring it on." She said she had already gotten legal advice, and has a long list of attorneys who had emailed her, stepping up and eagerly offering to depose Sarah Palin in such a case. Now that would make for some damn good blogging material.

She has now disappeared into Western Alaska on a fishing trip. Must be a communicable disease affecting Republican Governors. :bounce:

Palin Can’t Quit Quitting

July 30, 2009

It has been reported for weeks Sarah Palin would be speaking at the Reagan Library fundraiser on the eighth of August. With just a week to go, the planners should be calling William Shatner to fill in.

This just in from Palin’s facebook:

Quote:
As repeatedly stated to several in the media over the last week, former Governor Sarah Palin is not committed to attend the Simi Valley Republican Women’s event at the Reagan Library and in fact is not attending the event. Neither the Governor’s state staff nor SarahPAC has ever committed to attending this event or speaking at this event, and even requested that the Governor’s name be removed from the invitation several weeks ago. The Governor has other work and commitments to take care of at that time. She looks forward to visiting her friends in California soon.

All event requests must be confirmed with Meghan Stapleton of SarahPAC. Additionally, all invitations bearing the Governor’s name must be approved by her attorney before proceeding.

Thank you.
Meghan Stapleton

Sound familiar?

Last fall, after being booked for 2 months, Palin’s appearance was cancelled at a Coalition of Life event.

Her husband was sent in her place for the Washington Correspondence Dinner.

Palin wouldn’t commit to speak at a ceremony honoring the fallen soldiers of Alaska, then demanded to speak and on stage seating the morning of the event.

She was replaced with Gingrich at a GOP fundraiser in June, citing her busy job as governor.

It’s just as well, she may have walked out half way through…

Note to Meg, stop calling her governor…she quit.

Well, I hate to say it because it's just a "fact of life" for us females but I believe Sarah Palin is going through the "CHANGE." :drunken:

My first thought was that she was quitting because she wanted to pursue the presidency from the pulpit. She hasn't made that move yet. But I'm still holding out for that theory.

I believe she has no clue how bad, politically, it looks when you quit a high office like Gov. She's plain lost it.

She must think she can quit to remove herself from the heat and just become some sort of republican pundit like MM. But rather than do so from a blog, where she puts herself out and responds to the criticism. She comments on politics through her Facebook page.

...I look for her to announce through that same source that she is really wanting to run for Mrs. America! She's never gotten past the high school mentality. Just the way she talks is evident of that. When she doesn't have a script in front of her, she's worse than George W. Bush...and sometimes as bad when she does.

GOOD TO SEE YOU, CHANNEL!
