Sarah Palin is a prime example of how shallow so many Americans are, especially those who believe everything they hear and see on Faux Noise. There are those who worship her in much the same manner as they did (and still do) worship W. I blame John McCain for unleashing this monster on the world. While he lost the election of 2008, who he chose as his VP candidate continues to try to stir up the ignorant masses...and succeeding beyond even her flawed imagination could have ever conceived.

Palin would be an almost non-existant blip on the policital radar screen except for her role in the 2008 election. But after Al Gore chose Joe Lieberman as his running mate before the 2000 election fiasco, Lieberman was almost as much of an unknown as Palin was. Now look at him and at the amount of power he holds. I shudder to think of Palin gaining such political power. As ignorant as she is, she can still cause a hell of a lot of trouble.

What sucks is that people actually LIKE Palin. You wouldn't believe how many people around here (MS) think she's a saint and was done wrong. They also, sadly, love Fox News...so I guess the idiocy goes hand in hand.

Arg. If that woman gets elected I may lose my mind.

Another piece of interesting news: my local paper did an article on Palin and 8 other republicans who are looking to run for pres in 2012 and they claim that Haley Barbour is going to try to run...he's as bad, or worse, than Palin. Let's just hope Obama wins the 2nd time round and something crazy happens before 2016...

The Palin lovers are all being led up the garden path by Palin and the Repubs, but they're too ignorant to see it. Palin loves to be hated almost as much as she loves to be loved. Either way, she gets loads of attention. I think Huffington Post had far too many topics and subtopics about her at their website. Palin and her lot love ignorance...I saw a blurb on MSNBC a few minutes ago about the Apocolypse: Palin and BECK in 2012!

I love the 2012 revelation. I.e, "what other catastrophe could happen in 2012?" Palin could run for president!

Like they said in Monty Python's Holy Grail: "Run away! Run away!"

I was in Asheville on Friday and went into several bookstores, but none of them were really touting Palin's so-called "book." (I am sure Palin did not write that book...she's not capable of doing such a thing). I did see a sign offering it for sale at 25% off the regular price. Did I buy it? HA! Sure...to put into my garden next year in place of the scarecrow!

I'm sure the pages in her book wouldn't even be worthy of compost.

There is a nasty little secret  that these wackos like Palin, Coulter and the rest of the Right don’t want to know about. The numbers that make a book a best seller is NOT based on the books going out the front door of bookstores; they are based on the number shipped by the publisher. Many of these “authors” order a couple hundred thousand of their own books that then sit in a warehouse. The publisher isn’t paid until it goes out the front door. After the clamor dies down, they are returned to the publisher, and their status as a “best seller” is a bell that cannot be unrung. The books end up on the bargain rack often as cheap as a couple of bucks.

HA! I did not know that, APL... and I should have, because I've followed the world of books for years. Thanks for that...and it's an excellent bit of info to use when someone in my presence (particularly certain members of my family) start to praise Ms. Rouge. :bigsmurf: Its rather like some of those marvelous speeches that have been given over the years by some politicians...the speech is NOT written by the politician but he or she often is mistaken for having done so, simply because he or she spoke the words.

Pick the Palin cabinet. I know, I know -- don't even think it. But what would be more fitting than --

Ann Coulter as press secretary.
Lou Dobbs as Treasury.

And if that should happen, then Marg Delahunty should be in the Whitehouse press corps.

Palin tricked again.

Okay, I’ll play.

Name of Department of Defense reverts to Department of War because of truth in advertising laws. Mr. Palin named Secretary of War.

Rush Limbaugh named Secretary of Energy; with all his hot air, he can heat half of the country’s homes.

Glenn Beck named Secretary of Education, a job that he turns down because doesn’t believe in education.

Dick Cheney as Veep because he did such a bang up job the first time around.

Nancy Reagan named Secretary of Seances; since you never know when you might need advice from the Gipper.

An all-star of evil lineup.

With Cheney as VP, we'd end-up calling him the shadow president, anyways.

Can you imagine if Palin was governor of Alaska during the red scare. She'd be saying something like, "You can see 'em from your windows now. But before you know it, they're at your doorstep!"

BEST SARAH PALIN SPOOF YET! RU PAUL: GOING VOGUE

Amidst all of the spoofs of Sarah Palin's "Going Rogue", RuPaul comes out and tops them all. The new promo for RuPaul's show "RuPaul's Drag Race" features a parody of Palin's book cover, this one called "Going Vogue", with RuPaul dressed up as Sarah Palin, creating an awesome and utterly bizarre image.

The scene: following a massive SUV with Palin (only, obviously trimmed from McCain/Palin sticker) bumper sticker. SUV kept slowing down to 20 mph and then speeding up to 35 mph, all in 45 mph zone. Took me 2 full miles to get an opening to get around him. At stop light pulled up beside him, wife was watching movie on portable DVD player with husband/driver paying more attention to movie than driving.

Caribou Barbie’s fans are certainly not the sharpest tools in the drawer.

Sounds like the Arizona Highway Patrol needed to be given a heads up on that vehicle's driver, APL....however, if the AHP did stop him, the lies he'd tell as to why he was driving as he was would no doubt make Palin proud. THAT little scenario should be played out in the Magic Carpet forum! :blackeye: :drunken:
