My first car was a 1951 Mercury. I paid something like $3,600.00 for it in fall 1951. I bought this car when I was in the US Navy, and most of my Navy years were during the Korean war. The car set in storaged in San Diego while overseas, or I let one of the nicer young ladies that loved Navy men use it for 6 months. I traded the '51 Merc for a '56 Merc in 1956, wishing I had kept it. This last fall while visiting son in Minneapolis, Mn I came across this one for sale. I paid $15.400.00 and hauled it to Kansas. This has been my project the past two months.
