Some bold senators started a letter calling on Majority Leader Harry Reid to pass the public health insurance option through "reconciliation," which only needs a simple majority in the Senate. Other senators have released statements, saying they will vote "yes" on the public option in reconciliation. And our new state-by-state polls show that's exactly what voters want.

If your Democratic senator hasn't yet said they are willing to vote "yes" on the public option in reconciliation, can you type your name below and call them today? (We give you a script.)

Kay Hagan has not signed the letter or made a statement. This is a good site listing all the Senators and showing which ones have shown a willingness to vote for the public option. They ask people to lobby their Senators, give telephone numbers and a script to those who prefer one.

Kay is a fence sitter, a woman who is thinking more of her popularity among the NC independents and Republicans lite than she is of the need for health care reform. Thanks for the info, dori. I'll give Kay another ring!

Kay was mentioned today as one who would vote for the public option if it were to come to a vote, but I am sure hearing from her constituents is continually important. That website is supposed to be updated this weekend.

Thank you for checking it out.
