Syria has presented the Arab League with a ' formal protest memorandum' over the latest meeting of its Secretary General Nabil al-Arabi with figures claiming to represent the Syrian opposition who, in turn, handed al-Arabi a list of demands calling for all forms of flagrant foreign interference, including the military intervention in Syria's internal affairs.

The United States and Israel walked out of the 2001 World Conference against Racism, held under U.N. auspices in Durban, South Africa, over Arab attempts to brand the Jewish state racist.

A follow-up conference in Geneva in 2009 also descended into chaos with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad prompting a walk-out when he called Israel a "cruel and repressive racist regime."

World's central banks flood market with dollars

Five of the world's top central banks acted jointly Thursday to provide unlimited dollar loans to banks, a move aimed at easing the growing tensions in the eurozone's financial sector and shielding the global economy from its jitters.

The European Central Bank said it will coordinate with the U.S. Federal Reserve, the Bank of England, the Bank of Japan and the Swiss National Bank to offer [>] three-month dollar loans to banks through the end of this year.
