I haven't read Kelly's book yet, but I hope to once I can wade through all of the others that are unflattering of Bush.

I think it's funny and very revealing that there have been more books published over the past four years that are negative to GWB than vice versa...correct me if I'm wrong, but it certainly seems one comes out almost every day....either a book or a DVD. I love it.

One thing's for sure...GWB has been lucrative fodder for some authors and their publishers...I don't think there were so many books written about Bill Clinton during his 8 year tenure...and he was being shot at verbally all the time!

Kitty Kelly isn't a reliable author, she has been proven wrong before and had to recind things she has claimed.

While I agree with you, Betwixxt, that Kelley may be unreliable up to a point, her viewpoint is as believable about Bush as Bush is believable about anything he says, or rather stammers and/or stutters, particularly when he's trying to wax presidential.

His performance Thursday night in the first Presidential debate proved that point very clearly, and foreign policy was supposed to be his strong point.

actually I thought that the substance of what Bush said was excellent. Kerry may have looked more presidential, but he skirted issues, didn't answer directly or give answers as he was asked to. I try to overlook speech impairments as that isn't important overall.
