Journalism: jer-nal-i-zm - : writing characterized by a direct presentation of facts or description of events without an attempt at interpretation and without opinion.

News: 'nüz, 'nyüz - A report of recent events

Today's establishment media practice very little journalism and devote minimal resources to reporting actual news. Instead they have become a mechanism with which to create and maintain public perception. They spend most of their resources presenting the public with a false reality while distracting them from the most important issues facing our world.

For all practical purposes it is safe to say that the reality portrayed by the establishment media bares little resemblance to the actual world in which we live. This is not theory but is documented reality that becomes clear to anyone who cares to pay attention. An easy way to think of this is that the people in the establishment media are holding up an orange for your viewing while telling you that it is an apple. TvNewsLIES.org simply taps you on the shoulder and points out the fact that you are indeed looking at an orange. We don't simply "claim" that you are being lied to, we expose the lies as they are being told.

You don't have to believe us, you just have to believe your own common sense. We try to point out that this deception is taking place and we show you virtually every detail of the deception process. Once you become aware of what is happening, you will be better able to evaluate information and spot the deception for yourself. And, hopefully, as a result, you will be less likely to be fooled...by anyone in the establishment media!

Lies come in many forms: partial truths, selective facts, out-of-context quotes and information, partial historical perspective and outright misrepresentation of facts. It is easy to manipulate the public. If you become aware of the methods of deception you will be better prepared to sift through the propaganda to uncover the few facts that are actually made available by our broadcast our news media. Learn their tricks, stay on your toes and become a better informed (responsible) citizen

The Man Behind the Whispers About Obama
Sunday, 12 October 2008 23:02

The most persistent falsehood about Senator Barack Obama’s background first hit in 2004 just two weeks after the Democratic convention speech that arguably set him on the path to his presidential candidacy: “Obama is a Muslim who has concealed his religion.”

Until this month, the man who is widely credited with starting the cyber-whisper campaign that still dogs Mr. Obama was a secondary character in news reports, with deep explorations of his background largely confined to liberal blogs where he is a bête noir.

But an appearance in a documentary-style program on the Fox News Channel watched by three million people last week thrust the man, Andy Martin, and his past into the foreground. The Fox program allowed Mr. Martin to assert falsely and without challenge that Mr. Obama had once trained to overthrow the government.

McCain aided developer's bargain-price purchase of Fort Ord land
Sunday, 12 October 2008 16:24

An Arizona businessman with help from Sen. John McCain's office paid the federal government a mere fraction of the market value when he bought a Fort Ord land parcel in 1999, an Army appraisal obtained by The Herald shows.

Donald R. Diamond, an 80-year-old real estate developer, lobbyist and top fundraiser for McCain's presidential campaign, bought the land for $250,000, though it was valued at $7.2 million, according to Pentagon appraisals made three years before the sale.  He held on to the parcel for a little more than two years before selling it and the buildings on it for an estimated profit of more than $18 million.

NRCC Somehow Gets Credit From Wachovia
Sunday, 12 October 2008 14:14

The National Republican Congressional Committee, trailing its Democratic counterpart considerably in cash on hand, has secured an $8 million loan to spend on House races during the last few weeks of the campaign, according to sources.

Now, I guess this is legal because the loan will be paid with hard money donations later on. However, in the short term, this is effectively an $8 million donation to the NRCC from Wachovia at a time when Wachovia is supposedly in dire straits, about to be bought out by other banks, and will receive money from the government via the bailout. Does anyone see the attack ad in this move?

The Shadow President
Saturday, 11 October 2008 21:51

In 1992 Paul Wolfowitz, then the under secretary of defense for policy, presided over the drafting of a 46-page document called the Defense Planning Guidance. It was essentially a blueprint for American unilateral dominance in the post-cold-war era and created such a furor that Defense Secretary Dick Cheney had to withdraw its most extreme provisions. Read one way, the document looks like a dress rehearsal for the bellicose policies pursued a decade later by the Bush administration. But looked at another way, it also seems like a valuable window into Cheney’s operational code.

Palin uses her elected office to promote religious causes, at times with public money
Saturday, 11 October 2008 17:13

An Associated Press review of the Republican vice presidential candidate's record as mayor and governor reveals her use of elected office to promote religious causes, sometimes at taxpayer expense and in ways that blur the line between church and state.

Since she took state office in late 2006, the governor and her family have spent more than $13,000 in taxpayer funds to attend at least 10 religious events and meetings with Christian pastors, including Franklin Graham, the son of evangelical preacher Billy Graham, records show.

Troopergate report: Palin abused power
Friday, 10 October 2008 20:31

An investigation has concluded that Gov. Sarah Palin abused her power, according to a report just now unanimously released by the legislative council.

The report by investigator Steve Branchflower found that Palin violated the state's executive branch ethics act, which says that "each public officer holds office as a public trust, and any effort to benefit a personal or financial interest through official action is a violation of that trust."

Friday, 10 October 2008 19:12
