TVNL Editor's Comments: True or not, it is irresponsible journalism (and politics) to identify today’s explosions in London as terrorist attacks. Although indications are that they were indeed coordinated events and they are very likely acts of terror, a journalist must not draw conclusions. They may however make observations. The fake news reader on CNN, Soledad O’Brien, is suggesting that the US should raise the terror alert as a result of the incidents in London. My comment to Ms. O’Brien: Go back to hosting shows such as the Discovery Channel’s old show “The Know Zone”. That was much more in line with your skills. Think about it!Jesse, Editor, TvNewsLIES.org

If you believe that the American corporate media are our greatest enemy let the people know how you feel.

WAR : http://www.tvnewslies.org/news/#war

· Shiite Morality Is Taking Hold in Iraq Oil Port - Efforts to impose strict Shiite religious rule across Iraq would almost certainly spur resistance from Sunni Arabs and the more secular Kurds. But here in Basra, the changes have accelerated since the January elections, which enabled religious parties to put more radical politicians into office.
TVNL Comment: Bush/PNAC destroyed the most westernized nation on the Mid East and they have helped to create another extremist Islamic state. Say goodbye to women's rights.

· Twin bomb attack kills 13 in Iraq - Up to 30 people were wounded in the attack outside a car dealer's premises in the town of Jbeila, near the mainly Shia city of Hilla, south of Baghdad.

· Egypt ambassador 'to be killed' - A website statement claiming the kidnapping of the Egyptian ambassador to Iraq by an Islamist group has announced he will be killed.

· So, Mr Bremer, where did all the money go? - At the end of the Iraq war, vast sums of money were made available to the US-led provisional authorities, headed by Paul Bremer, to spend on rebuilding the country. By the time Bremer left the post eight months later, $8.8bn of that money had disappeared.

· Fatal Error Deepens Mistrust of U.S. - Many Iraqis say they understand why U.S. forces must be here - to keep the country intact, protect its fragile new government, and stop the violence. But enough civilians have been killed in one-sided encounters with frightened U.S. troops that Baghdadis often cower when Americans are near. Whenever U.S. troops leave their bases, they say, everyone is vulnerable. - "We are living in constant terror because of these convoys," Khinaisar's husband, Mohsen Hameed, said at his wife's funeral.
TVNL Comment: Literal translation: The
US troops are terrorists in Iraq. It is not their fault, it is their mission and the people who planned this invasion are responsible.

POLITICS : http://www.tvnewslies.org/news#politics

· Karl Rove And Novak - They've Talked Before - Karl Rove was fired from the 1992 re-election campaign of Bush Sr. for allegedly leaking a negative story about Bush loyalist/fundraiser Robert Mosbacher to Novak.

· The Impeachment Question - More than four in 10 Americans, according to a recent Zogby poll, say that if President Bush did not tell the truth about his reasons for going to war with Iraq, Congress should consider holding him accountable through impeachment. - But you wouldn't know it from following the news. Only three mainstream outlets that I can find made even cursory mention of the poll last week when it came out.

· White House Scrambles to Stop Criminal Indictment of Rove - The Bush Administration is scrambling behind the scenes to stop a criminal indictment against Presidential advisor Karl Rove for disclosing classified information to reporters in an attempt to discredit a White House critic.

ECONOMY : http://www.tvnewslies.org/news#economy

· US firms announced highest layoffs since Jan '04 - U.S. firms planned the highest number of layoffs in June since January 2004, led by the automotive and retail industries, a report said on Wednesday.

9/11 News : http://www.tvnewslies.org/news/#911

· On The Record: The Controlled Demolition Of The WTC - This is a clip from the new documentary Loose Change, which features firefighters and other eyewitnesses discussing explosions at the World Trade Center and examines the physical evidence.

· Controlled Demolition Of WTC: Compare and Contrast - This is what happens when a building collapses from a cause other than controlled demolition.

· Brief Summary of Evidence Demonstrating that the Administration Orchestrated 9-11 - There are several lines of evidence indicating that the Bush Administration orchestrated 9-11.

CONGRESS : http://www.tvnewslies.org/news/#congress

· Donation brought access to DeLay - A company indicted in a Texas campaign fundraising case says it was told that by giving a Tom DeLay political committee $25,000, company officials would get access to the U.S. House majority leader to influence legislation.

DOMESTIC : http://www.tvnewslies.org/news/#domestic

· Miami-Dade's pick for an elections supervisor creates a stir - Miami-Dade County election officials have hired the head of a computer firm that served as a subcontractor for Election System & Software Inc., the vendor for the county's touch-screen voting system.

ENVIRONMENT : http://www.tvnewslies.org/news/#environment

· Biggest U.S. Power Generator Goes on Trial - The nation's biggest power generator broke clean air rules by failing to cut emissions at plants in four states that foul the air in the Northeast and harm health, a federal lawyer argued Wednesday.

· Chemical Plants Pose Risk to Communities - Plants in 23 states that store lung-melting or otherwise lethal chemicals are in some of the nation's most populous communities and could each endanger more than 1 million people in a worst-case disaster, congressional researchers say.
TVNL Comment: But we are told that the only thing we have to fear is terrorists.

INTERNATIONAL : http://www.tvnewslies.org/news/#international

· Multiple blasts paralyse London - Large numbers of casualties have been reported after at least six explosions on the Underground network and a double-decker bus in London.

· Thousands protest Bush visit to Denmark - Recent surveys have shown a majority of Danes view Bush unfavorably, and authorities and organizers expected as many as 20,000 people to participate in the anti-Bush demonstration Wednesday through downtown Copenhagen.

MILITARY & VETERANS : http://www.tvnewslies.org/news/#military

EDITORIAL : http://www.tvnewslies.org/news/#editorial

· How Is the World Ruled and Led to War? - As if the entire event had been scripted, administration officials had all agreed days earlier to appear on the Sunday talk shows that same morning. Once the cameras clicked on, they made generous use of the allegations contained in the article, now free from worries about releasing classified information. It was a perfect scheme – leak the secrets the night before so you can talk about them the next morning.

· Thou Shalt Not Accuse! (Regardless of the Evidence) - What an inconceivable time we live in. It is now more sinful to expose the crimes and lies of an American president and his administration, than it is to commit them! The American media and most members of Congress have sat silently by, blindfolding themselves with the American flag, while the most criminal administration in history continues to defecate on the soul of our nation.

JOURNALISM & MEDIA : http://www.tvnewslies.org/news/#media

· Ruling throws media for a curve - A judge's ruling that two talk-radio hosts' on-air activity could be considered campaign contributions has attracted concern that the decision could have unintended effects on other media.

· Third columnist caught with hand in the Bush till - One day after President Bush ordered his Cabinet secretaries to stop hiring commentators to help promote administration initiatives, and one day after the second high-profile conservative pundit was found to be on the federal payroll, a third embarrassing hire has emerged. Salon has confirmed that Michael McManus, a marriage advocate whose syndicated column, "Ethics & Religion," appears in 50 newspapers, was hired as a subcontractor by the Department of Health and Human Services to foster a Bush-approved marriage initiative. McManus championed the plan in his columns without disclosing to readers he was being paid to help it succeed.

· New York Times Reporter Jailed for Keeping Source Secret - The judge's decision to jail Mr. Cooper comes despite Time magazine's decision last week to provide the special prosecutor with Mr. Cooper's notes and other documents after the Supreme Court refused to hear the case. In a filing on Tuesday, Mr. Fitzgerald said that he had reviewed the documents and determined that Mr. Cooper's testimony "remains necessary."

· Judith Miller is No Martyr and Sulzberger is No Saint - This should be considered the real trial of the century -- a trial that could re-chart the political map of America. If the mass media wasn’t putting up so much resistance, we could all be watching a blockbuster of a diabolical political soap opera -- played before a canvass of a real live war.
