TVNL Editor's Comments: Take the horror and tragedy assigned by our media to the explosions in London yesterday, and multiply it by about 4 and you have your average day in Iraq. The only difference is that the events in Iraq are happening for no other reason than the US and the UK created a situation in which they could and would take place.

However tragic yesterday’s events were, they were trivial as compared to what goes on in the non-white nations of this world.

Also, while every network tried to frighten us again with their overblown coverage of the events they ignored the real threat that will kill us and is killing us right now and was newsworthy yesterday, and that is George W. Bush’s anti-environmental policies and how he will not even cooperate with the nations of the G8 to slow down global warming. Which do you think can and will kill more people, train bombs or global warming? Hint: Train bombs won’t kill off our food supply! Think about it!Jesse, Editor, TvNewsLIES.org

WAR : http://www.tvnewslies.org/news/#war

· The lies behind the lies - Hiro is painstaking as he holds up every piece of fake intelligence to scrutiny, revealing both its falsity and the propaganda use to which it was put. - Hiro mounts convincing evidence that Bush was determined to invade Iraq on virtually any pretext soon after his first election victory. He also shows how, some seven months before the war, US special forces were operating within Iraq at the behest of Rumsfeld.

· Zarqawi: Everywhere and nowhere - Bush and his top officials have, in fact, made good use of him, lifting his reputed feats of terrorism to epic, even mythic, proportions (much aided by various mainstream media outlets). Given that the invasion and occupation of Iraq have now been proven beyond a shadow of a doubt to be based on administration lies and manipulations, I begun to wonder if the vaunted Zarqawi even existed.

· US dwindling options in Iraq - So it is no surprise that a confused American public is asking where it all went wrong, and, increasingly, calling for the withdrawal of American forces.

· Captors kill Egypt envoy to Iraq - Egypt has confirmed its ambassador to Iraq has been killed, five days after he was kidnapped in Baghdad.

· Top Hussein Lawyer Quits, Chides U.S. - Saddam Hussein's chief lawyer quit the Iraqi dictator's Jordan-based legal team, saying Thursday some of the team's American members were trying to control the defense and tone down his criticism of the U.S. presence in Iraq.

· Car bombs kill many in Iraq - Thirteen people were killed and 30 wounded late on Wednesday in two almost simultaneous car bombings in the central Iraqi town of Jbeila, some 100km south of Baghdad, police said. - Two prominent figures have also died in the day's violence. In Baghdad, a source in the Defence Ministry said armed men had assassinated Lieutenant-Colonel Rahim Amin al-Hilfi, an officer of the Badr Brigades.

POLITICS : http://www.tvnewslies.org/news#politics

· Rove to be indicted "this week or early next", - But what about all the speculation that this could unravel something a little higher up? It looks like the White House is seeking some heavy duty cover; namely Jim Sharp.
TVNL Comment: We have not confirmed this information. It is worth noting, none the less.

· 'NY Times' and 'Wash Post' Differ on Whether Source Who Gave Matt Cooper Waiver Was Karl Rove - According to The New York Times today, "Cooper's decision to drop his refusal to testify followed discussions on Wednesday morning among lawyers representing Mr. Cooper and Karl Rove, the senior White House political adviser, according to a person who has been officially briefed on the case."

· When Fools Reign - President Bush's June 29th speech at Fort Bragg, North Carolina reminded me of how the general population of Rome suffered through thirteen years of Caesar Claudius' reign; a reign which amounted to nothing less than a traveling freak show. - Every speech from President Bush seems to confirm his relationship to Claudius by means of Empirical Roman atavism.

· Joseph Wilson on Bush Crowd: "A Real Threat to Our Republic" - This is a radical regime, not a Republican administration. It is the most oppressive crowd I have ever seen and is a real threat to our republic. While I am not an expert in elections I can see how people might believe the last two elections were stolen.

ECONOMY : http://www.tvnewslies.org/news#economy

· Do Tax Cuts for the Wealthy Stimulate Employment? - These tax cuts account for much of the $2 trillion increase in the national debt projected to occur during the Bush presidency. They prompted a large group of Nobel laureates in economics to issue a statement last year condemning the administration's "reckless and extreme course that endangers the long-term economic health of our nation."

· Saudis warn of shortfalls as oil hits $61 - Oil prices hit new record highs above $61 a barrel on Thursday, driven by short-term supply fears as the first hurricane of the season threatened crude production and refinery operations in the Gulf of Mexico.

· U.S. initial jobless claims up 7,000 to 319,000 - The four-week moving average of new claims fell by 3,500 to 320,000, the lowest in four months.

· Unlike U.S., Canada Taking Mercury Pollution Seriously - In marked contrast to U.S. policy, Canadian environment ministers have agreed on a draft plan to reduce mercury emissions from coal-fired power plants north of the border by as much as 58 percent by 2010.

· Bush, Blair Deadlocked on Global Warming - "We're not going to negotiate some new treaty on climate change" at the economic summit known as the Group of Eight, or G-8, Blair told reporters.

INTERNATIONAL : http://www.tvnewslies.org/news/#international

· London Bombings: Questions to Blair - The timing of the London attack is a political godsend for Tony Blair, coming only one day after the decision to award the 2012 Olympics to London, and while he is facing a public revolt over plans to introduce identity cards. Already the authorities are fostering an atmosphere of panic, with the likely intention of strengthening their political hand in Westminster.

· Crops fail across southern Africa - More than 10 million people need food aid after crop failure in six southern African countries, the United Nations food agency says.

· Galloway: Bombings price of Iraq - He told the Commons it was the US-led coalition's actions in Afghanistan, Iraq and Guantanamo which had inflamed hatred of the West in the Muslim world.

· Philippines ministers ask President to resign - Philippines Finance Secretary Cesar Purisima has called on embattled President Gloria Arroyo to step down.

MILITARY & VETERANS : http://www.tvnewslies.org/news/#military

· England to Plead Not Guilty in Second Trial - Earlier this year, the 22-year-old soldier had agreed to a plead guilty to several charges in return for reduced prison time. But an Army judge threw out her plea in May, saying that the confession she had worked out with Army prosecutors was not believable.

· Military Gives Another Big Contract to Ripoff Artist Halliburton - Even though the firm has been caught bilking Uncle Sam, the U.S. military has signed on scandal-ridden Halliburton to do nearly $5 billion in new work in Iraq under a giant logistics contract that has so far earned the Texas-based firm $9.1 billion.
TVNL Comment: How is this permitted? Where are the arrests of the people responsible for this?

· Central Asia seeks US air base pullout deadline - The host countries of two key US air bases in Central Asia used for operations in Afghanistan are reassessing how much longer foreign troops will be allowed to stay.

· Iraq War Deserters Speak Out From Canada - Three U.S. servicemen living in Canada tell why they refused to serve in Iraq.

EDITORIAL : http://www.tvnewslies.org/news/#editorial

· From Iraq To The G8 - The Polite Crushing Of Dissent And Truth

· Oil Painting By Numbers - Truth be told, the dynamics in the oil market are changing so rapidly that it is a topic worthy of frequent visitation. The problem, as we see it, is one of mathematics - the numbers just aren't adding up.

· Iraq, London & America's Homeland Insecurity - Ever since the media began admitting what we all knew was true – that the Bush administration lied about why we were going to war in Iraq – the White House has tried to repackage our Iraq operations as a way to prevent terrorism here at home. As President Bush said in October, "We are fighting these terrorists with our military in Afghanistan and Iraq and beyond so we do not have to face them in the streets of our own cities." Tragically, the terrible bombing in London shows we are now paying a horrible price for this silly, dangerous, short-sighted, and truly dishonest line of reasoning.

· Global War on Terrorism: "Wrong Concept" - This war has a popular label and a political label, but it’s not accurate,” said Gregson. “Terrorism is a means of power projection, it’s a weapon, it’s a tool of war.

HEALTH & SCIENCE : http://www.tvnewslies.org/news/#health

· The mass poisoning of humanity: an exploration of human stupidity - As human beings, we're the only species stupid enough to actually poison ourselves. As part of modern living, we create a wide variety of chemical toxins that go into the ecosystem through rivers and streams, the air, the soil and so on. Not only that, we actually synthesize toxic chemicals and then inject them directly into the food supply -- knowing full well that they are poisonous and are major contributors to the epidemic rates of chronic disease we are experiencing today.
