TVNL Editor's Comments: Do you see how the media are all over the administration
for not preparing for the disaster in New Orleans? You see how they are asking questions about how
everyone knew that this was going to happen? Do you see how they are talking
about all the warnings about the levy breaking and about how the budgets were
cut that might have helped address this potential problem? My question is
where were the similar questions about 9/11?
Where were the
questions about the warnings? Where were the questions about knowing that
planes can be used as missiles? Where were the questions about Bush calling
off virtually all CIA & FBI investigations into the bin Laden family?
Where were the common sense questions and outrage that we are seeing from our
media today? Think about it! – Jesse, Editor,
TvNewsLIES.org
SPECIAL NOTE TO OUR FRIENDS DOWN SOUTH: My thoughts
are with all the victims of Katrina. I wish you all a peaceful resolution to
your trying situation.
QUESTION: Have you
forwarded this e-mail to anyone today? Consider doing so for you will
be helping to inform the people of this nation about the vital issues that
are hidden from them by our corporate media. Make this nation a better place,
educate, inform and enlighten your fellow citizens!
If you believe that the American corporate media
are our greatest enemy let the people know how you feel.

POLITICS : http://www.tvnewslies.org/news#politics
|
· Bush
Bypasses Senate to Install Official - President Bush has used a
constitutional provision to bypass the Senate and fill a top Justice
Department slot with an official whose nomination stalled over tactics at the
Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, naval facility.
TVNL Comment: He did it again. Mr. Democracy bypasses the democratic process. George W. Bush is
running a dictatorship and is a symbol for everything that is wrong with our
system of government.
· Sec of State
Condi Rice caught buying several-thousand-dollar pair of shoes in NYC moments
ago, spends last night at Broadway show! - According to
Drudge, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has recently enjoyed a little
Broadway entertainment. And Page Six reports that she’s also working on her
backhand with Monica Seles. So the Gulf Coast has gone all
Mad Max, women are being raped in the Superdome, and Rice is enjoying a brief
vacation in New York.
TVNL Comment: Another companionate conservative in the time of national
crisis!

ECONOMY : http://www.tvnewslies.org/news#economy
|
· New
bankruptcy law a problem for Katrina victims - Hurricane Katrina is
expected to cause a spurt of bankruptcy filings by storm victims -- and
sweeping changes in U.S. bankruptcy laws may leave them even more strapped
than they otherwise might be.

|

associated with a secret U.S. military intelligence team have asserted that

as an Al Qaeda suspect inside the United States more than a year before the
2001 attacks, the Pentagon said on Thursday.
· Qaeda's Zawahri warns of more attacks on West - TV - Al Qaeda's second-in-command Ayman
al-Zawahri warned there would be more attacks like
the London suicide
bombings, on Western countries that took part in the U.S.-led wars on Iraq and Afghanistan.
· Potential Bush-CIA
crisis - George Tenet is not
going to let himself become the fall guy for the September 11 intelligence
failures, according to a former intelligence officer and a source friendly to
Mr. Tenet.

DOMESTIC : http://www.tvnewslies.org/news/#domestic
|
· New Orleans descends
into anarchy - New Orleans has descended
into anarchy as corpses lay abandoned, fights and fires broke out, cops
turned in their badges and the governor declared war on looters who have made
the city a menacing landscape of disorder and fear.
· New Orleans rocked by huge
blasts - The New Orleans riverfront has been hit by a
series of massive blasts, and fires are raging in the area.
· FEMA Directing
Donations To Rev. Pat Robertson - FEMA has released to the media
and on its Web site a list of suggested charities to help the storm’s
hundreds of thousands of victims. The Red Cross is first on the list. The
Rev. Pat Robertson’s “Operation Blessing” is next on the list.
· Budget
cuts delayed New Orleans flood control work - Bush administration funding
cuts forced federal engineers to delay improvements on the levees, floodgates
and pumping stations that failed to protect New Orleans from Hurricane
Katrina's floodwaters, agency documents showed on Thursday.
· Halliburton
Illegalities, Bush Busts Whistleblower - A five-year Iraq contract was
awarded less than a month before the invasion, under a clause which allowed
for no-bid contracts in the case of a "compelling emergency."
Greenhouse contends that she objected to the 5-year terms of the contract,
questioning the probability of an emergency lasting for five years.

ENVIRONMENT : http://www.tvnewslies.org/news/#environment
|
· German
conservative links Katrina to US CO2 policy - A German
conservative policymaker said on Thursday climate change had played a role in
Hurricane Katrina and urged the U.S. to join other
nations in cutting the carbon dioxide emissions blamed for global warming.
TVNL Comment: Bush and the right wing will continue to get a free pass by
the murderous conplicit American media on this
issue, as with all issues!
· National
Climate Summary – August 2005 - One of the warmest Augusts on record;
record breaking temperature extremes
· The Dangers of
Climate Change - In February 2005, 200 scientists met in Exeter, UK to warn that
dangerous climate change is happening now and action must be taken. The

INTERNATIONAL : http://www.tvnewslies.org/news/#international

· China evacuates
790,000 as typhoon slams into coast - Nearly 500,000 people have been
evacuated in Fujian and another
291,000 from neighbouring Zhejiang province,
according to local officials, while some 30,000 fishing vessels returned to harbour.

victims of the Beslan school siege is due to meet
Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow.
TVNL Comment: But Bush won't meet with a single mother of a fallen troop!
· Cowboy
Bush Failed In Katrina Evacuation - Chavez - "That government had no
evacuation plan, it is incredible, the first power in the world that is so
involved in Iraq ... and left its own population adrift,"
· Aid offers
pour in from around the globe - Venezuela, a target of
frequent criticism by the Bush administration, offered humanitarian aid and
fuel.

EDITORIAL : http://www.tvnewslies.org/news/#editorial
|
· Bush is the
real threat - Now that the US president has
announced that he has not ruled out an attack on Iran, if it does
not abandon its nuclear programme, the Middle East faces a
crisis that could dwarf even the dangers arising from the war in Iraq. - Even a
conventional weapon fired at a nuclear research centre - whether or not a
bomb was being made there - would almost certainly release radioactivity into
the atmosphere, with consequences seen worldwide as a mini-Hiroshima.
· The Man-Made
Disaster - The situation in New Orleans, which had
seemed as bad as it could get, became considerably worse yesterday with reports
of what seemed like a total breakdown of organized society. Americans who had
been humbled by failures in Iraq saw that the
authorities could not quickly cope with a natural disaster at home.
· A Can't-Do
Government - At a fundamental level, I'd argue, our current
leaders just aren't serious about some of the essential functions of
government. They like waging war, but they don't like providing security,
rescuing those in need or spending on preventive measures. And they never,
ever ask for shared sacrifice.
· Where the Fuck
is Dick Cheney? - Not a word out of that cold hearted demon! I guess
there are no lies to tell to the media so he has nothing to say.
