"Is it conceivable that somebody on our side has decided that all of Palestinian society is the target?" - He also asked if the military method used Monday "actually intensifies and broadens the circles of hatred for generations." • Silenced witnesses - In a seven-week period this spring, two overseas observers were killed by the Israeli army in the Gaza Strip, and a third left brain dead. But has the truth yet been told? - Since the start of the second intifada, 2,200 Palestinians have been killed. Nine Israeli soldiers have been indicted for various offences, but none has been convicted of unlawful killing. But this, from the killing fields of the Occupied Territories, is something new: the killing and maiming of Western journalists and peace activists. And, unlike the Palestinians, the families of the international victims have been able to bring pressure to bear. They have, however, had precious few satisfactory answers. - We showed the APTN film of James's shooting to a serving Israeli soldier. He noted that the television team did not look like Islamic terrorists and concluded: "That's murder." - TVNL Aks: Is it anti-semitic to report this? The military later admitted that it may have mishandled the situation. - The dispute surrounds the Oct. 20 airstrike on a car in the Nusseirat camp, in which 10 Palestinians were killed, including two in the car, and more than 70 wounded. - To counter Palestinian claims that missiles were fired into a crowd of bystanders, the army called a briefing in which it displayed footage from an aircraft hovering overhead. The grainy black and white pictures showed the missiles striking a car in an empty street. - Now, military correspondents say they have the same information and accuse the army of lying to them at the briefing. On the evening news on Wednesday, Channel Two TV's military reporter, Ronnie Daniel, said flatly, "They misled us."

Palestinian officials said the group was bird-hunting, a popular pastime among Gaza youths. - The two wounded youngsters were taken to a hospital in Israel.
