Despite U.S. laws, thousands still virtual slaves in America

The Star also found that the government is doing little to stop the flow of trafficking along the porous U.S.-Mexico border and that when victims are identified, many are denied assistance.The United States also has violated its own policies by deporting countless victims who should be offered sanctuary, but sometimes end up back in the hands of traffickers.

Happy Anniversary Amerika!

Today is the Ninth Anniversary of the Death of this Nation, and no doubt it shall go unnoticed just like this Anniversary did on the eight previous Anniversaries of this day.

What I'm talking about happened on December 12, 2000 when the US Supreme Court stopped the presidential vote-count and appointed Bush Junior to the office of president. That was a day that should have 'Lived in Infamy' but has instead been banished to the trash-heap of the history that was written by those that are still in stolen-power and denial.

Study Questions Use of Anthracyclines in Breast-Cancer Patients

Researchers presented new findings Saturday at a breast-cancer symposium here suggesting that the risks associated with anthracyclines, a class of chemotherapy drugs widely used to treat the disease, outweighed their benefits in some patients.

The findings renewed a debate over whether anthracyclines, which have been around since the 1960s, should remain the standard of care in treating breast cancer, or whether newer drugs should be used more frequently instead.

Canadian sci-fi author beaten, imprisoned at US border crossing

Canadian science-fiction author and Toronto native Dr. Peter Watts was reportedly beaten,pepper-sprayed and imprisoned at a US-Canada border crossing in Michigan.

Watts now faces a felony charge for “assaulting a federal officer,” with Watts and his passenger in the car saying that he's completely innocent. The real tragedy here is that Watts could be left in financial ruin from the cost of legal fees, yet he is determined to fight the charges.

House panel passes college football playoff bill

Dismissing complaints from some members that Congress had more pressing matters, a House subcommittee approved legislation Wednesday aimed at forcing college football to switch to a playoff system to determine its national champion.

"With all due respect, I really think we have more important things to spend our time on," Barrow said before the vote, although he stressed he didn't like the current Bowl Championship Series, either.
