We delude ourselves when we think that what is happening will just magically ‘go away’ with the next president. We delude ourselves when we think that an election is the cure for what ails us. We delude ourselves when we deny our own individual responsibility in changing the trajectory of where our country is headed. We delude ourselves when we think that nothing can be done to stop what is happening. We delude ourselves when we think that the ‘War on Terror’ is only a war on evil crazy terrorists.
It's a time of reflection on the past eight years and I wanted to share what I have personally learned from Republicans and specifically, The President of the United States, George W. Bush.
One of the most astonishing facts about the Bush presidency is simply that it continues to exist.
Only a combination of certain critical conditions have kept the man and his government from suffering the same fate as Mussolini or Ceaucesceu. A politically naive public, a neutered opposition, a compliant press, a Constitutionally-fixed term of office, a truckload of fear, a moderately sufficient economy and a remotely plausible victory in an unpopular war have all conspired to encourage a surly public to simply wait out the clock for the demise of the Creature from Crawford.
Why cannot man set up a community like an ants' nest? This would be the ideal of the anarchist, and hitherto it has held no promise at all of success, but with the help of recent and probable future biological discoveries, some sort of imitation by man of the ants' nest cannot be quite excluded from consideration.
The fact is that Israel's core identity is based on ethnic and religious discrimination by a colonial, immigrant group; and maintaining this exclusionist identity has required continued violence against those it has dispossessed, and others who have given them refuge.
How has Israel used our military aid in the past? In all of its wars except one, Israel has attacked first.
The Failure to Confront America's criminal-conspirators has left this nation with blood on all our hands. From the illegal congressional giveaway of their constitutional powers to the executive, and on through the courts all the way down to each and every one of us: We have failed to confront the enemy in this Time- of-War!
Thus, this country is currently operating under a fascist and oppressive state, which constitutes TYRANNY...the very kind of tyranny we fought against in 1770's when our country and its republic sought to be free from oppressive British rule.
Under this country's current circumstances, we must look at the very real and tragic message of government oppression and criminal subversion of our Constitution that is consuming this nation, and is the core of our problem.
