Pakistani ambassador involved ion deadly car accidentPakistani authorities have reportedly prevented an American diplomat involved in a deadly car accident from leaving Pakistan after a U.S. military plane arrived specifically to fly him out of the country.

Pakistan's The Nation and The Express Tribune reported Saturday that Col. Joseph Hall, the U.S. Embassy's military attaché in Pakistan, was prevented from leaving the country while U.S. officials were informed he could not leave until the accident was adjudicated.

Mike Pompeo offers aid to N Korea for forfeiting nukes

US secretary of state Mike Pompeo has offered economic help to impoverished North Korea if it gives up its nuclear weapons, as the two countries prepare for an historic summit between Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.

A day after returning from a trip to Pyongyang, Pompeo said he had “good” and “substantive” conversations with Kim during his visit, during which he secured the release of three Americans who had been detained in North Korea. In a joint news conference with South Korea’s top diplomat, he offered a glimpse of what US-North Korean relations could look like if they succeed in reaching a nuclear accord.

“If North Korea takes bold action to quickly denuclearize, the United States is prepared to work with North Korea to achieve prosperity on the par with our South Korean friends,” Pompeo said.

Family of 7 dead in what could be Australia's worst mass shooting in 22 years

Family of  7 found dead in AustraliaA family of seven including four children was found dead with gunshot wounds Friday at a rural property in southwest Australia in what could be the country's worst mass shooting in 22 years, police and news media said.

The children died with their mother and grandparents. The three generations had moved in 2015 to Osmington, a village of fewer than 700 people near the tourist town of Margaret River, to grow fruit, media reported.

Police would not comment on the possibility of murder-suicide, but said they are not looking for a suspect.

North Korea summit: Trump greets freed American detainees

Korean prisoners releasedUS President Donald Trump has welcomed home three American detainees released by North Korea.

Mr Trump said it was a "special night for these really great people" as they arrived at the Andrews Air Force Base near Washington.

The White House said the trio had been freed as a gesture of goodwill ahead of the planned meeting between Mr Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.

Mr Trump said he thought the summit would be "a big success".

European nations say they are staying in Iran deal

European nations staying in Iran deal

European leaders on Tuesday lamented President Trump’s decision to withdraw from the Iran nuclear deal, but vowed to honor the accord moving forward.

French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and British Prime Minister Theresa May said in a joint statement that they’re concerned about Trump’s decision, but encouraged other parties to the agreement to honor the terms of the deal.

The White House has released its justification for violating the Iran nuclear deal and re-imposing sanctions lifted under the deal.

“The re-imposed sanctions will target critical sectors of Iran’s economy, such as its energy, petrochemical, and financial sectors,” according to the White House brief. “Those doing business in Iran will be provided a period of time to allow them to wind down operations in or business involving Iran.

Senator Bob Menendez, the top Democrat on the Senate foreign relations committee, condemned Trump’s decision to withdraw from the accord as “a grave mistake”.

“With this decision President Trump is risking US national security, recklessly upending foundational partnerships with key US allies in Europe and gambling with Israel’s security,” Menendez said in a statement.

N Korean foreign minister blasts tough guy pressure by USNorth Korea's foreign ministry has warned Washington not to "mistake its peace-loving intentions for a sign of weakness," blasting claims that the U.S-led campaign of pressure and sanctions on the NOrth paved the way for the upcoming summit between Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un.

In an interview with (North) Korean Central News Agency on Sunday, a foreign ministry spokesman said the United States has "misled public opinion by making it appear its sanctions and pressure had led to the recently adopted Panmunjom Declaration between the two Koreas revealing their intention to denuclearize the Peninsula.
