Trump to avoid London protests with tour of English country homes

Baby Trump BlimpPresident Donald Trump would like a quick trade deal with Britain once Brexit is finished, the U.S. ambassador to Britain said on Friday ahead of a presidential visit to London next week that will keep Trump largely away from planned mass protests.

Trump arrives in Britain on Thursday after a NATO summit in Belgium that could turn contentious over the U.S. leader’s insistence that allies pay more for their defense and amid trade disputes between Washington and Europe.

U.S. Ambassador to Britain Woody Johnson painted trade as a potential bright spot in the strong “special relationship” between Britain and the United States, which he said Trump intended to strengthen.

TVNL Comment: Baby Trump can fly over any planned route.  Hey, Donald: You can run, but you can't hide.  The protesters will find you.

Andrew Wheeler takes over for Pruitt as acting head of Environmental Protection Agency

Andrew WheelerScott Pruitt’s deputy, Andrew Wheeler, will take over for the embattled former head of the Environmental Protection Agency — and is expected to pick up where Pruitt left off in the fight against regulations designed to protect Americans’ health.

Wheeler, 53, shares Pruitt’s drive to implement a deregulatory agenda.

Unlike Pruitt, however, the former coal lobbyist is known among colleagues as a spotlight-averse politician who could be more adept than his predecessor at rolling back regulations governing clean air and water, the New York Times reported.

TVNL Comment: How in Hell can this agency pretend to work for Environmental Protection?  It must be labeled the Environmental Destruction Agency.  Wake up, America.

Trump admin asks for more time to reunite kids and parents separated at border

Trups askes for more time to unite families

The Justice Department asked a federal judge Friday to extend the court mandated deadlines for reuniting nearly 3,000 migrant children who were separated from their parents while crossing the U.S.-Mexico border.

Attorneys for the U.S. government claimed the court mandate for returning all children under age 5 to their parents by July 10 and all other children by July 26 does not account for the time required to verify and vet each parent.

U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar said Thursday that his agency is using DNA testing to confirm parent-child relationships for nearly 3,000 children.

Judge largely rejects Trump bid to block California sanctuary laws

Sanctuary citiesA federal judge on Thursday rejected the bulk of a Trump administration demand to block three California sanctuary laws, allowing the state to keep in place its most significant legislative measures aimed at countering President Donald Trump’s crackdown on illegal immigration.

Sacramento-based U.S. District Court Judge John Mendez rejected, for now, the Justice Department’s drive to halt a California law that limits the kinds of immigration-related information state and local law enforcement can share with federal officials. The judge also declined DOJ’s request to block another law guaranteeing California officials certain information about local and privately run jails that hold immigration detainees in the Golden State.

N. Korea linkely making more fuel for nuclear bombsUS intelligence agencies believe North Korea has increased production of fuel for nuclear weapons at multiple secret sites in recent months and may try to hide these while seeking concessions in nuclear talks with the United States, NBC News has quoted US officials as saying.

In a report on Friday, the American network said what it described as the latest US intelligence assessment appeared to go counter to sentiments expressed by President Donald Trump, who tweeted after an unprecedented June 12 summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un that "there is no longer a nuclear threat from North Korea".
