Attorneys for ex-North Charleston Officer Michael Slager said he shot 50-year-old Walter Scott in self-defense after the two fought and Scott grabbed Slager’s stun gun. They said race didn’t play a role in the shooting and Slager never had any “racial animus” toward minorities.

VA cuts program for homeless vets after touting Trump's commitment

David Shulkin: VA cuts program for homeless vets

Four days after Veterans Affairs Secretary David Shulkin held a big Washington event to tout the Trump administration’s promise to house all homeless vets, the agency did an about-face, telling advocates it was pulling resources from a major housing program.

The VA said it was essentially ending a special $460 million program that has dramatically reduced homelessness among chronically sick and vulnerable veterans. Instead, the money would go to local VA hospitals that can use it as they like, as long as they show evidence of dealing with homelessness.

"That city is Israel's capital," Trump said in remarks at the White House. "It is time to officially recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel."

Trump also announced plans to build a new American embassy in Jerusalem. The current U.S. embassy is located in Tel Aviv.

Jerusalem has long been a divided city, with West Jerusalem serving as the seat of Israel's government. Palestinians, however, consider East Jerusalem as the rightful capital of any future Palestinian state.

Dem Senators ask Franken to resignEleven Democratic senators -- eight female and three male -- called on Sen. Al Franken to resign Wednesday, marking the first time any senator has called on the Minnesota Democrat to leave office as allegations of sexual harassment against him continue to mount.

In a statement on Facebook, New York Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand wrote: "While Senator Franken is entitled to have the Ethics Committee conclude its review, I believe it would be better for our country if he sent a clear message that any kind of mistreatment of women in our society isn't acceptable by stepping aside to let someone else serve."

“MSNBC and I have decided to part ways based upon their firing me from their network, therefore I decided not to go there anymore,” he said.

The Wrap, citing an unnamed source, first reported Monday that MSNBC had decided to sever ties with Seder after alt-right social media personality Mike Cernovich dug up and publicized an old tweet from Seder last month.

Flynn pleads guilty to lying to FBI about conversations with Russia's ambassador

Mike Flynn flipped: pleads guilty to lying to FBIFormer Trump national security adviser Michael Flynn pleaded guilty Friday to "willfully and knowingly" making "false, fictitious and fraudulent statements" to the FBI about conversations with Russia's ambassador.

In court Friday morning, Flynn's only comments were to answer yes and no to questions from the judge.
He is the first official of President Donald Trump's campaign and the fourth connected to his campaign to be charged as part of special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into possible collusion between the Russian government and members of Trump's team, as well as potential obstruction of justice and financial crimes.
TVNL Comments:  This is the first card to fall in the fragile House of Trump.  Flynn is the key to the whole Trump clan: Donald, Don Jr., Jared and Ivanka. Fun time ahead.
